Now i have learned two of my nephews got layed off from a big construction company. Bother are journeymen electricians. Within a few days they learned the company had hired more than they laid off. And who do you think replaced my union nephews? You guessed right. They speak spainish, not english, and they are skilled workers. But they make half as much as my union nephews who are now on unemployment until the try to find something that pays enough. I will bet that story is typical all over over the usa. Yes, and i have a neighbor who runs his own air conditioning and heating contract company. He is being eaten alive, he says, by people from the south who can do the work and have cut his business in half over the past couple of years. Millions of contractors (carpet layers, brick masons, plumbers etc.) are suffering. But the government thinks immigration, waves of people crisscrossing the border is good. I don't and it is natural they would come and take over. Need new blood in DC!!!!!

Sir I agree with you I live in Dallas and where I work there are mexicians working there. they work cheap and they steal what is not nailed to the floor.

there is a fine line there with immigration and illegal immigrates but some illegal immigration dont leave because they have fell in love. my boyfriend is stay because of our 2 month old son and me. but do to stupid laws i'm having trouble helping him. so i wish people would just understand that because one person is bad that all other people that ethincy is bad too. i'm sorry about your nephews but think about the ones who are here and want to stay because of there family and love ones but can't is it right for the government to be able to tare apart a family and not allow a infant to even know his father or for them to take someones love of there life away. i don't think so |

Thank you for providing a tangible, real world example of what I have been saying all along.
THe worst part of this invasion from illegal aliens is the impact it has on the traditional blue collar, work with your back and hands jobs............whether they be service or craft workers.
Illegals gut the market with an oversupply of labor, depressing wages, working off the books and under minimum wages....thereby taking jobs away from the most vulnerable of Americans.
Our middle class is disappearing before our eyes.....and illegal immigration is one of 3-4 critical factors contributing to its demise.

My reasons
Number one you said it was a union shop, Unions do not allow companies to fire employees without cause, they have a involved grievance procedures.
(2) Union Shops have hire (ing) list by what employees are on a list waiting for the next available jobs.
(3) Union members would walk off the jobs if (scabs) were hired. Union members are very militant about their contract rights
US workers are protected by EEOC job protection provisions.
Why did your Nephews not file a complaint with EEOC ,if what they say was true , the EEOC will find in their favor and give them back their jobs with back pay.
Too many of these their taking our jobs !! Are out right Miss information attempts.
We are a country of laws and we have laws that cover everything. |

This is a really fascinating issue. The majority of voters in BOTH parties want something done about illegal aliens, but the leaderships of BOTH parties LOVE illegals. Some Republican leaders and candidates are making a big issue of it because they see it as an issue where the Democrats are more vulnerable, but if you've been looking at the situation you'll see that once in office they will do just what Bush is doing--nothing.
Democratic politicians love illegal aliens because they know that newly-naturalized citizens almost always vote Democratic. Republican polticians love illegal aliens because they are cheap labor--they keep down wages for -everyone-, and Cheap Labor is one of the GOP's highest priorities.
So if you vote for the Republican candidate who makes the most serious noises about illegal aliens, you KNOW--I don't have to tell you, you KNOW--that after the election it will be business as usual.
In fact this is how MOST campaign issues work. Because we don't hold our politicians accountable for their promises. We can't solve -this- problem until we solve -that- problem. |

I know just what you mean. The illegals are running this country into the ground and if we do not force the issue right now then we can forget it because the politicians know that Americans are fed up with it. With election year coming up they will listen (or pretend to) and get at least something started about this problem. If we don't force it now then all will be lost for the next four years. So Americans, stand together and start marching in the streets like the illegals do! Call your reps and even the White House. Get everybody you know to call. WE HAVE TO STAND TOGETHER ON THIS ISSUE AND START MAKING SOME NOISE OVER IT, OR THINGS WILL JUST GET WORSE!!
And if you think that it only affects the blue collar workers, think again. |

I lost my job - as did almost 5000 employees across the U.S. -- because our jobs were outsourced to Manila, Mexico City, India and elsewhere.
Guess what most of us did?
We went out and found another job......
