Well its because these countries, particularly US feel they need to police the world....
You think other countries will just say, yes we will do what you say USA...? NO, they are not children, they are independent nations, who want US to leave them alone....
Of course Americans and British feel the scorn of the world, especially when we travel or hear the news....

We have to look the mirror. Britain and Americans are more interested in other nations than they are interested in us, from the beginning of history till present day. If Britain and America could just stop sending troops over the world, I think the rest of the world might just do the same. Take note, there are more British citizens abroad than there are foreigners here. |

Try seeing it from other's point of view. How often do we bully and put fear on their countries? Do we leave their innocent alone? A better question would be to ask Bush to leave us and them alone. I'm guessing mind you, but, I think its because we feel the need to mind the business of the world.
We have military bases in countries all over the world. We Americans and the British and other countries only know freedom. We assume dominated countries want that also.
Al-caida brought war to us and we took it back to them. We did not become the most powerful country in the world without standing up to the bullies in the school yard.
And while I am a Republican I do feel the planning for Iraq was poorly done. But what would your opinion be of a country that would "Cut and run when the going gets tough"?
War is not a movie, everything does not go by script. Truman never dreamed it would be necessary to fully annihilate not one but two cities to end WW II. But it was necessary to stop the fighting. And Viet Nam we just came out of that looking like an inept country with a poor military.

You should elaborate..What do you mean when you say 'Why can't people leave us English and Americans alone' ? Bush byt his abysmal foregin policies has alienated half of the world. He has led us doen a very dangerous path. He invaded Iraq on doctored evidence, 100,000 vicilians and over 2,000 troopps have died there. Hardly the way to win hearts and minds. Lebanon is being bombarded daily, over 1,000 have died, Bush has the power to stop it and will not. He is funding Israel to clusterbomb Lebanon, Afghanistan has flared up, daily our trooops are dying. Is it any wonder the world is dangerous when Bush and Blair have alienated and pissed off so many. While Beritut was burning and innocent children dying Blair was schmoozing Arnie and Snoop Dogg in LA. He's currently sunning himself in a $3Million villa courtesty of Cliff Richard. I think you should be directing this quesiton at Bush and Blair not ordinary people who are powerless to do anything and want to live in a peaceful world. |
