I think that we live in a wonderful world where people are free to express their opinions.

I also think that sometimes, you have guests, and then you invite them to live with you, and then they act like you owe it to them to give them everything, and they forget that they are guests and not entitled to everything you have worked hard for, forever.

Wow that's really superficial, there is more to a marriage than material gifts. Maybe its that Americans are less tolerant of adultery than Mexicans that we divorce more.

I really don't think that most divorces are a result of what you give each other on Valentine's Day.

If Mexicans care more about marriage and family it more than likely is due to their embracement of religion.

wow so the explanation for the high divorce rate is because americans dont give good presents. and mexicans give Rolex's, paid vacations, trucks, boats and houses to their spouses which explains why all of them are still together. Statistics say that a household with both mother and father will raise a more than likely child to excel in school. Why doesnt this explain the high drop out and teen pregnancy rate amongst Mexicans?

Anyone who says not Mexicans obviously doesn't know any Mexicans. A lot, not all of Americans seem to look at marriage as "until I find somebody better" and not the actual marriage vows. So I say anybody who cherishes their partner will give a present.

I don't know about everyone else, but i'm tired of being judged as an entire group! I'm an individual and would like to be treated like one. As far has Mexican marriages lasting longer i'm afraid your wrong. I'm a white US citizen born and raised and my husband is Mexican born and raised. His mother took off when he was only 2yrs old and left his father to raise him and his sister. A friend of ours is sitting in jail right now for raping a women and he has a girlfriend and baby. My father in law has 2 other children with a different women whom he cheated on his wife with. So your theory is wrong. We are all human and we all make mistakes. As far as Valentine's Day goes my husband hates having to go out and literally take the time to pick something from the heart for me. So that theory is also bull.
I know plenty of Hispanic women that go through hell with their husbands drinking, cheating etc... the only reason why they stay with them is because their too afraid to support themselves. American women grow up in a society where it's OK to be independent and are taught that way...we don't need a man to live our lives!!!!

I don't know about the statistics in Mexico, but in the USA they are 9% less likely to get married and be with their family than caucasians are.
So umm i dunno about your statement that they care more about marriage and the family.

Well, we know they are excellent at population -- making babies. When have you not seen a Mexican female of child bearing age pregnant or with at least a bunch of kids? You don't care didley about marriage, otherwise you wouldn't be having your illegitimate children on American soil so they can be citizens. But who gets to support all these children? Do your babies fathers? You live off American Citizens and our good will and generousity. We don't have any money left to buy presents after paying for all your Mexican children, their education, and heating bills, and welfare. Go home and give Mexico your Valentine presents and your children!

Mexicans really shouldnt have kids they cant take care of,if they cared about family,they wouldnt overpopulate the economy and expect Americans to pay for that.: Illegals come to the U.S. for jobs to support their families, and wives and kids in there homeland? Many do. But record numbers of those wives and kids are sneaking over the border to join their breadwinner in the U.S. But most alarming, is the record numbers of dead-beat dads that find an easy escape from their responsibilities in their homeland and in fact abandon their families. There is also strong empirical evidence that even illegal aliens who had good jobs in their homeland still want to be in the U.S. -- most of the world's people want to come to the U.S. because it is a very good place to be for many more reasons than just for a job.

Mexicans most certainly do not give better presents. They can't afford good presents. And divorce has nothing to do with the quality of presents. If it did, you Mexicans would all be divorced for getting your girlfriend an empty taco shell for her birthday. Even the thoughtful gifts that don't cost money are better from Americans. We are a first world country and therefore have a more broad perspective about the world around us. You Mexicans only know what you've seen in your village.
