I don't understand how a U.S. citizen are getting deported, but some are saying if you looked hispanic they question whether you are here legally or not....Well, if you do not have the CORRECT papers to be here....you get deported.

Stolen identities may also aid illegals in trying to say they are really citizens. I hope the research as to whether they are really citizens or not is thorough and if in fact, the identity has been stolen, the true citizen's name is cleared! I am sure it happens, but I am more sure tens of millions of illegals are posing as citizens and getting away with it...
The citizen cited in the yahoo story appears to be missing a couple of bricks, who knows what the real story was. |

there are organizations that want this issue to be the one that stops deportation. Janet Napolitano is one of them and boy.. we have trouble. They send their people in to harms way, ICE picks them up, they are watched until they get to Mexico and then retrieved. ALL of the citizens arrested are not of that sort, but at this point, most of them are.
So understand this: if you have a drivers license or a social security card, or some form of I.D. such as a Military I.D. or a VA I.D., and you are not deported. If you don't tell them you are a citizen, if you cannot speak English, if you refuse to answer questions telling officers you are a citizen.. you can be considered an illegal alien. If you want trouble.. just play games with the officers and you will go to Mexico. |

If you don't have the correct papers then you are not an U.S citizen, are you? |

if you cannot prove your citizenship..... and we have so many trying to be here illegally I can see why some are sent out by accident but you can hardly blame our government people need to have an ID on them at all times. I know in California if you do not have an id and you are stopped by a peace officer you can wind up in jail. |

U.S. authorities are doing a job that is very difficult. The question is, if you are a US Citizen and get arrested, why not show your papers? In addition, obviously those people did something bad that is why they were arrested to begin with and later deported back to mexico. I hope they would just stay there and never return. |

have the CORRECT papers and you wont have anything to worry about now will you.If you don't have them then.....that's your undoing not our....And Im sure that the only ones saying this are those trying to stir up trouble to try to take the focus away from the illegals from mexico. All just BS.. |

If you cannot provide proper information to prove your citizenship then so be it, deport. |

If you fight deportation you are not sent back right away (it takes months) But you are jailed in the meantime. Im sure a US citizen would fight and that is plenty of time to prove yourself. |

To my understanding when someone from another country gains American citizenship through naturalization ( had green card was here a certain amount of years then passed a test as to understanding english, american history, and such to become a citizen of the United States) and they are later convicted of certain crimes, the government can revoke the naturalization certificate and deport them. And as for illegals, I've seen them deported on a first misdemeanor and some are still here with several felonies on thier record. I know a older Puerta Rican that couldn't obtain proof of his
birth due to a fire at registrar's office in P.R, schools didn't keep past certain # of years. He came at age of 16, only went to P.R 2 times in 39 years. Then at age 55, immigration wouldn't accept all his D.L. or tax returns, ect. since he worked as crew leader with Mexicans they deported him to Mexico. |

Someone who has become a citizen should be able to prove it. If not, whose fault is that? If you can't, or refuse to, show your papers- you get deported.
If you can't, or refuse to show your papers- who is going to believe you are a citizen? Same goes for Presidents, people. |

Well, it is easy to understand. There is a gigantic wave of hatred against immigrants, legal, illegal, it doesn't matter
If you look Hispanic and you did the great criminal offense of being crazy or mentally retarded, they will deport you
Maybe they do it on purpose, like Hitler was doing to the mentally impaired |

It wouldn't surprise me if it happened since it happened during the 1930's great depression. yup that's right...many US citizens got deported back to Mexico Its just sad to see how history repeats itself and we never learn from our mistakes |
