I am a Green Card holder in US and also a Vietnamese citizen. I am trying to obtain a tourist visa to Germany. How do I do this?

You will need a Schengen tourist visa to visit Germany. It must be applÃed for at the German Consulate General which covers your state of residence.
In general the application must be made in person; the following documents are required for a visa application:
• fully completed application form (only German and English versions accepted) and required declaration
• two passport photographs (35 x 45 mm; 1 3/8" x 1 3/4")
• national passport (valid at least 3 months beyond the proposed travel) and one copy
• original of valid US alien registration card or valid US resident visa (type A, E, F plus endorsed I-20, G, H, I, J plus J1 documents, L, O, R) and one copy
• your current bank statements from the previous two months and one copy (showing availability of at least €60/$90 per day of stay)
• Confimation letter from your health insurance stating coverage for emergency medical, hospitalization and repatriation with a minimum of €30,000 ($50,000) for trips outside the US and one copy
• reference letter from your employer
• proof of group travel/hotel reservation/airline reservation and one copy
• visa fee (€60/$92)
The usual processing time take between two and ten working days; the application may not be made earlier than 3 months before the proposed travel.

You will have to apply and send your application to the nearest German consulate or embassy. Contact any travel agent. Some travel agents will assist you in this if you purchase tickets through them. |
