US citizenship .. green card ?

I got married on 2006.. got my 2 years temporary green card on 2008 ,
I heard that within 3 years marriage, you can apply for the us citizenship.. It will be 3 years in this coming May. or they count the date as you received your temporary green card?
so, do I need to file for permanent green card first, or I can just apply for my Us citizenship??

You MUST apply to remove conditions from your green card in 2 years after it was issued (in 2010).
Your 3 years eligibility for citizenship period started on the date when your conditional green card was issued to you (in 2008), NOT on the date of your marriage.
If you divorce your USA spouse before that, you have to wait 5 years to become a citizen. And in any case, you must have your conditions removed. |

Did you file I-751 Remove Condition? You must file I-751 first and if that is pending and your 3rd year anniversary of green card approval comes, then you can file N-400. Without I-751 filing, you cannot just apply for N-400. |
