Many statistics regarding the cost of illegals is nothing more than an "educated guess". Because they are undocumented, they can be impossible to track. Hell, we don't even have a solid number regarding the amount of illegals in this country.

So, no...It's not "fact" like gravity or death is fact.

40% of all workers in L.A. County (L.A. County has 10 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.
95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
Over 2/3â€™s of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Med-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.
Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

They do get benefits, free medical care using ER's as doctors surgeries, food stamps, welfare, free education for their kids, they receive benefits that many legal residents / citizens are turned down for. They send billions of dollars back home that are not spent in the US economy , the actual figures of illegals who pay taxes social security etc are less than 30% and even that is far less than the amount they take out of the system. In 2005, over 4000 US CItizens were killed by illegals. 35% of the prison population is made up of illegal immigrants. Who pays for that and the legal process. The US taxpayer! Illegal immigrants do not have to have medical exams like legal immigrants do, diseases that have never been seen in the US before and others considered eradicated are flaring up.

I worked for a collection agency that collected bad debt for a major Illinois hospital. I was a liason between the hospital and the agency so I was well aware of all the individuals who were in collection. 90% of the bad debt was owed by Hispanic clients. Of that 90% almost none of those clients made one payment toward their debt. They used the hospital emergency room as if it were a free clinic.

Most of them never even intending on paying bills, a fact, verified by the alias names they used (Vicente Fernandez, Luis Miguel, Marc Anthony and Pedro Martinez to name a few ). Even if they were located, what could the company do? Sue them? Ruin their credit? We have to pay our bills because our ID's are verified and If we don't we shoild never expect to buy a home or car.

The hospital eventually closed, just one of many that closed, due to the large debt owed by free loading patients. You won't see that in the headlines because political correctness does not allow us to put the blame where it belongs.

I am now a police officer so I see an even more vivid problem with illegal immigration. I have seen hundreds of identity theft cases in which illegal immigrants have used the names and SSI of legal Hispanics in order to scam drivers licenses, get credit cards, cellular phones and even mortgages. I understand you feel like everyone is picking on your people, but it has nothing to do with hate or race. It has everything to do with being lazy and going where the going is good because you are too afraid as people to fight for your own country!

The fact is that if they were made legal like this new bill is proposing, which I hope passes, they would have to pay taxes. Right now they are paying taxes. Sales Taxes that we all pay, at the pump, stores etc. I guess people have hate because now instead of being the minority (like we have always been called)we are the majority and people feel insecure and threatened. I don't agree that there should be any illegal immigrants in our prison systems as there are now. We are feeding them and providing them with a place to sleep and it is costing us the tax payers. Why don't people complain about that?
It would benifit the US more to legalize the hard working people than to kick them out. A lot of these people are hard workers and are here for a better opportunity. This is supposed to be a so called "melting pot" what happened to that?
Some don't have the money or resources to wait in line and come here the legal way. Some have applied and have been rejected. I think this should have been resolved a long time ago but it wasn't. Now you want people who have been here for years to leave their families and the only life they know?
The only people who have a true right to be here are the native americans and look what happened to them. They were given reservations to live in and their land was taken away. They are the ones who should be running the country. I was born here and I am a citizen but I do have a Mexican background and I am proud! Live and let live!

I am sure many pay taxes, I am also sure many do not. Education: $10,000 per child per school year. How many illegals have children in our school system and for how many years?
Using ER's for healthcare: That cost is absorbed by community hospitals and passed on to taxpayers by way of price increases for service and higher insurance premiums.

Taxes: People who make $8 per hour are entitled to hold out for EIC's (Earned Income Credits and intended for the working poor) yes those who pay taxes do pay SS and Med. For example $8 per hour on a 40 hour week that is $19.84 per week for SS and $4.64 per week for Medicare. How far do you think $24.48 per week goes when paying for the government services they use such as: Welfare, Education? Those are but two of the services used by illegals. Who pays the difference?

By the way I am sure most immigrants would appreciate it if you would differentiate between immigrants and illegal aliens.

You are asking how an illegal alien can pay for health care without benefits?? The answer. They CAN'T.
Another reason illegal don't belong here. They can't legally work here. Employers hire them without benefits.

An illegal alien still RECEIVES health care without benefits by merely showing up at an emergency room. They HAVE to treat them. The hospitals rarely ever collect on the bil (fake IDs). This is one of the things precipitating all the hospitals closing in California.

There are lots of ways that illegal immigrants cost the US money, here are a few. By not paying income tax, illegal aliens cost the federal government about $35 million dollars annually (ABC News). The impact on state and local governments is even greater. When illegal immigrants go to hospital emergency rooms, by law the hospital must treat them regardless of ability to pay. Because they don't have the money to pay for thier visit, the hospital loses out on the revenue, which effects other aspects of the hospitals ability to operate effectively. As for coming here legally, nobody said it was easy, nothing worth while ever is. I believe the logic is that by coming here legally, the government can eliminate criminals and people with diseases that can pose a health risk to the population from enetering the country. The money lost would also decrease.

Yes fewer companies may pay under the table, but there are plenty that still do. Getting a fake SSN isn't that herd to do believe it or not. If the IRS doesn't issue a check when fraud is revelaed then the government keeops the money.

There is no right to come, and we need limits because we subsidize those who do come. Our schools and hospitals have only so much capacity and our children's education is being ruined by stretching their facilities and education funds to educate so many non-English speaking people who wouldn't be here if their parents hadn't come illegally.
