They aren't called illegals because they came here legally.
Mexico's 2nd largest source of income is from people here in the US sending money "home". So you know they don't want to stop the illegals.
No. We can't just suddenly send them all back. It would disrupt our economy but we should deport them gradually and make it a lot harder for them to come here in the first place.
Sure. We need foreign workers. But we need workers that contribute to our social programs, such as social security, taxes, etc.
We may be able to buy our produce cheaper because of them but our taxes are higher, prisons overflowing, hospitals going bankrupt, etc.
If they are willing to pay their share fine. Apply for visas. |

Being an illegal immigrant is criminal. They should be deported. My grandfather came here legally. Doing that is an insult to people who are law abiding. Legal immigrants do not support illegal immigrants. |

Does it really matter what we think about the subject of Illegal immigration, the government is going to do anything they want to do! We want a fence put up on our border, NO! We want illegal immigrants sent back , NO! Some cities are giving sanctuary to illegal immigrants, We say NO! They could care less what we have to say! The politicians tell you what you want to hear to get elected, and when they are, you can go straight to HE double hockey sticks! |

Why should someone who comes here illegally get a green card? In what other country would that happen? Would it happen in Mexico? No. I don't blame them for wanting a better life, but we simply can't afford the tax money necessary to provide the healthcare and education they need. My husband is an immigrant. He had to do it the old fashioned way - legally. |

No. They are ILLEGAL. I realize a lot of them came here to seek a better life because their country is so horrible, but there ARE other solutions to coming here illegally. And they should not be rewarded for their criminal behavior. |

What I think is actually irrelevant. The fact is that an illegal is breaking our laws. No, they should not be given green cards...they should be prosecuted for the laws they have broken exactly the way Americans and legal immigrants are and then deported. No green cards and no chance to return after showing us they will not, by their own choice, follow the laws of our country. We're at war right now and this issue with illegals is very serious business... not a game. |

No, for many reasons.
1) They are here ILLEGALLY. You shouldn't be rewarded with the same privilege of those who came here legally.
2) Giving them green cards will say it's OK to come here illegally which will attract more illegals because:
a) They figure they will get amnesty at one point.
b) Illegals are here because there are people and businesses who will hire them. Why do people hire them knowing that they are illegal? --- Because they are cheap, thus the employers don't have to pay benefits, taxes, etc. This saves them money and therefore they make more of a profit and don't have to abide by labor laws and can exploit their employee without fear of reprisal.
THEREFORE, if these illegals were legalized, the employers who hire them, would now have to pay them according to labor laws. The immigrants would not tolerate the conditions they endure now, because they have the right to demand better, and they will. So, the employers will look elsewhere for a cheap source of labor, and will guess what.....hire even more illegal aliens, meaning more will come in to take the place of those who were legalized. |
