Your very right!!!!!! the Asian immigrants are the ones that have better jobs than US citizens and business they own a lot of US territory, they are the ones that hire most of illegal immigrants and yet you don't hear anti immigrants protesting about them. I don't think the chinese flags are a big deal. Puerto ricans wave their flag in the puerto rican pride parade every year. And this is kind of similar since the olympics are in china.

What I am offended by is seeing the olympic flame on it's way to China. Someone needs to extinguish that thing, and fast.

If you call them Chinese why should they be waving the American flag? You've already categorized them into the Chinese section and admitted to them being Chinese.... is it wrong to wave the flag of your own country?

It seems to me that discontent with the way things are run in China might be the reason why some if not all of the Chinese people at the protest were in the US in the first place. That doesn't mean that they should not retain a nostalgic feeling for their beautiful and wondrous homeland.

My aunt is 86 years old, and came to Canada from Scotland as a very young child. She still refers to the UK as "the old country". You should have heard her when Canada got a new flag, to replace the Red Ensign. No Union Jack! Was she some upset! Should she be deported? She left Scotland 83 years ago.

Secondly, American citizens who were born in China are not Chinese. They are Americans.

I'm a legal alien resident in Taiwan. When we lived in Taipei, the Canadian Society had a celebration and we waved Canadian flags at the barbecue. Does that mean we should all go back to Canada?

If Chinese people in America, or anyone else
1. obey the law
2. respect the American flag

then they can say or do whatever they want. It's called freedom of speech, and the right of peaceful assembly.

By the way, I'm a teacher in a public junior high school in Taiwan. You may be assured that I stand at attention during the ROC national anthem--and I scolded a kid for letting his flag drag along the floor when he took it down at the end of the school day.

If I were living in the Peoples Republic of China, I would have done the same thing there too.

Simple, Mexicans wave their flag to TRY to tell the US government that they have rights after braking the law. Meaning, they break the law and then they have the nerve to DEMAND amnesty while waving the Mexican flag? come on.

Regarding the Chinese, it's olympics, a "WORLD EVENT". It's not a parade demanding amnesty.

for the ones like me whose family has been around for multigenerations, no matter where our ancestors came from the american flag is the only one we put up.........

It did me and I am Chinese. We are now Americans and it should be the American flag on top and then the Chinese flag, I mean if they liked it so much over there they could make the move, not me we are here to stay. But you know what the heck at least we work and help the country and don't whine and have our bottom lip stuck out. Good question though, keepu pthe good work.
