I have never read any book but, I read the blog/journal of a man who lived in Mexico and if a person does truly have an interest in the whole Mexico/USA relationship, I highly recommend to take the time to read what he has written.

My only suggestion would be to read from his first blog entry back in 2001 and continue, he makes the most sense of anyone I have ever read on this whole topic and this guy really hits the nail on the head all the way around with regard to everything in and out of Mexico and the U.S.
In fact, for all the gringos who want to be armed with truth and slam these reconquistas and put them in their place, read this guy's blog. For those of us who are married to Mexicans and go to visit in Mexico, we KNOW and experience first hand the hypocrisy of the Mexican government and we experience the shake downs while visiting and I find it utterly disgusting that their Pres Calderon would even have the nerve to come here in the U.S. and tell us what we should be doing and not doing, Mexican, please. |
