I have no problems with anyone of any nationality succeeding in this country, or any country. Just as long as they are here succeeding legally. So, unless you are trying to stir up trouble I don't understand why this is in immigration. Shouldn't it be under sociology, education, careers or some other category? |

The intelligence of all races is equal. That is the ability to learn.
The more you learn, the smarter you get (not the more intelligent). |

Well, as far as you 'knowing' - you are actually pursuing a career, not perusing!
Good luck counselor LOL |

With good education, motivation, and a great work ethic, anyone can do exactly the same thing, it is the American dream. |

It doesn't matter to me unless they are illegal immigrants. More intelligent, educated people is a good thing. |

What statistics are these? I hate when people make up stuff.
Statistics say Hispanics have been intelligent for a long time. |

It's always nice to know that we have more Americans willing to pursue higher education, I don't care who they are. |

My guess would be that hispanic intelligence has always been high. At least as high as anyone elses. The difference is probably opportunity. |

Underlined name.

That's good! |

That's good for the U.S !!! |

What other careers are you perusing? Of those, which will you pursue?
Yup, real intelligent. |

I wouldn't atribute that to any rise in intelligence. It's more like an increase in opporttunity and an increase in the population of hispanics and other minorities.
When an effort is made to provide more quality education for those who have been traditionally marginalized, those individuals will naturally seek career paths suited to their education. This has proven true whether the targeted population is hispanic, black, Asian or even white children from imporverished communities.
Thoughtfull people have long been trying to tell the poititians holding the purse strings that education is the key to solving a huge host of problems, from poverty, crime, environment, overpopulation and many more. The problem is that those polititians don't tend to come from backgrounds where quality education is provided as a normal path. |

what are you talking about, you just made that up! Hispanics can hardly even make it past high school. I think they said like 1 in 5 actually graduate |

Classic immigrant story. All immigrant groups in general tend to improve the social lot of their children (be they waves of Irish or the new Hispanic boom).
Strong family ties and tendency towards sacrifice to benefit their children tends to help....then the kids or grand kids make good and deal with the situation of how not to spoil their own kids :) |

i think it's good that minorities are making a rise in America, being a minority within a minority myself (I'm Indian and Sikh).
It's especially cool that Hispanics are rising within the educational world, because there are many stereotypes about this race of people that need to be proven untrue. |

It's hard to say, there are so many urban legends...kidding. |

Why wouldn't they, they're getting it all for free! |

a rise in intelligence is always good. However lawyers are a dime a dozen in this country. If thats what you want to do I'm sure you have your reasons, but lawyers are not highly esteemed anymore. |

well, there was no where for that statistic to go but up. I think it is a good thing. These are the people who will be assets to this country and its economy, not drain it. Good luck in your schooling. |

i think it is wonderful for everyone should educate themself or the specific cultural background for that is one thing man can not take from you is your education.. more power to any ethinic culture that pursue this way of change. |

Well with ESL (English as a second language to spanish oops I mean to any other language) and having the privilege of having most things translated into spanish and the educational system here what do you expect? I hope your "perusing" (he he) of a law degree goes well, all we need is another lawyer here in this country. |

don't be silly

Great, so now doctors will start charging a reasonable fee. |

Ever watch Carlos Mencia, "Mind of Mencia?"
The guy's a freaking genius and he's Mexican/American.
Who in the world ever taught you ethnicity and intelligence were even an issue? |

I sure hope you are legal. The bar does fingerprint, you know.
I say that only because I have seen your position on illegals and assumed you either were one or were born of one. Do you know you will be ethics bound not to further commission of a crime, once sworn in?
As to intelligence, I don't know why you assume we think Hispanics aren't intelligent. Intelligence has nothing to do with the issues of illegal immigration, although giving University seats to children who shouldn't be here above our own children does go to that point. |

They are getting educated not more intelligent. If you are pursuing a career in law you need to learn to spell. |
