When was the last time any European asked the US to "bail" them out? |

Bragging is our perception of USAmerican behaviour, but I would rather live hear with a real Health Service, not there with the choice of pay the doctor or die. I am happy to pay the tax to keep my country healthy. |

Well I find the vast majority of Europeans and Americans as decent hard working people, its a pity I can't say the same about you.
Now stop embarrassing yourself and your fellow country-men and learn some manners or STFU. |

Europe is great but you probably wouldn't like it.
I'd stay over there if I were you. |

There are so many different countries and cultures in Europe. Sorry, you probably don't know what the word culture means. How can you compare a Greek with a French person or a Spaniard with an Irish person? I know that you don't know that there is anything beyond the boundary of your home state, but do you really have to ask questions on here to highlight your arrogance and ignorance?
It's no wonder your country is so unpopular the whole world over. |

I am British and European. I think you generalise too much, it is like me saying Americans are fat, loud and arrogant.....some are some aren't, some Europeans are, some aren't. You think Europeans are worthless and failures and expect to be bailed out by the USA, does that include some of the bail out Barclays Bank is making of some of Lenham Brothers assets? |

LOL yeah and i think americans are money hungry arrogant people. who are either anorexic or obese.
How can you sterotype millions of people like that lol?
The USA are bullies. Bush bullied ireland into letting planes heading to iraq afghanistan stop and refuel by threatening to pull business out of eire.
Americans are the ones who are failures :) cant even fight a war properly. hehe |

America is bankrupt and the Wall Street Mafia has pulled the rest of the world down with it into the sewer.
So in regard to 'bailing us out' please put your own house in order before looking further afield.
You cannot even begin to afford to fund your foreign debt, It will take at least the next four generations to lift your country free of the mountain of debt that has been accumulated..
A little education would do you a world of good.
Mind you, because you obviously know so little of places beyond your borders, this does not have to include fearsome travel to countries outside the good US of A.
Sigh...and to think I went to university in Buffalo.....! |

I don't agree with your points at all. Understanding Europe is the key to understanding the people, and they are an accumulation of very, very separate and distinct cultural groups supported by the many languages they have. I find them neither egotistical, or diminutive. Certainly, though, finding their way in this world as the United States moves to yet another position on the world scene.
World War II was fought in Europe, and for the most part, by Europeans. The losses they suffered were staggering, and in terms of resources and people. They have needed our help, but for a very long time, we very badly needed theirs. Lets call it even, and revel in our democratic governments we all fought so very hard to obtain.
We will need that togethness in the future. Mother Nature is slipping the world one hell of a mickey and truely, united we will survive while divided we shall very surely perish. |

Just what I catch on the Travel Channel. Looks like a nice place to live if you learn another language. That is a lot of work and a pain in the arze. |

Smasha that strange European aren't so vulgar to brag. It mostly Americans who do the bragging. Plus I gather you never been to Europe. There are 51 countries on the continent of Europe. So you put them all in the same boat then? America hasn't bailed any European country. Russia bailed out Iceland, 5.4 billion loan. So where does US fit into this? America can't afford to bail anyone out. They owe that much money to the Chinese. USA owes China 492 billion dollars. That whey during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, when George Bush visit to Beijing he didn't dare mention Tibet not to upset the Chinese. Why? because the USA like i have mention above owe them billions. So the Chinese own the USA :-) |

"Sure, they might have a bit better standard of living, but look how much they're taxed!"
If what you say is true then they're clearly smarter than you! Just think about what you typed here for 10 seconds! |

We are sowing the seeds for our own self destruction by allowing so many immigrants from 3rd world country to come here. By the way when have America ever bailed us out? 92% of German casualty's from World War 2 were at Russian hands. |

We don't "ask for your help" at all!!! America only entered WWII because Pearl Harbour was bombed, you didn't give a crap about what was happening in Europe before then! And the Battle of Britain was won without American help!
And yes maybe we are taxed more than you (not nearly as much as you think we are) but guess what? When my child is sick I can take him to the Dr without having to worry about being turned down by an insurance company or not being able to afford the "deductibles" or horrendous drug costs, thats because we see life as precious and not something to make a profit out of like you greedy Yanks do.
You might be taxed less but you still have to fork out a fortune in your health insurance (which won't always cover you when you need it, yes I've seen "Sicko" and was disgusted by the state of Medical care in your country).
Europeans have a longer life expectancy and a lower infant mortality rate than the USA. Isn't that telling you something? That perhaps your "oh so great" country is actually a bit of a sh*tty place to live? As someone else says, your wonderful captalist country (where kids die because their parents can't afford to pay the doctor) is practically bankrupt and you have pulled the rest of us down with you into this "credit crunch". But the citizens of most European countries are still living a better life than you are. Maybe us "Socialist" Euros had the right idea eh? |

i think the people in the various european countries are much like us yanks. each of us thinks ours and our way is the best. we are all too given to disparaging whatever and whoever is different from ourselves. most of us tend to judge and condemn what we don't fully know or understand. from yahoo comments, i gather many europeans look down on the usa and its citizens. which, of course, does not sit particularly well with usa cits. it seems to me that europeans frequently condemn yanks for things they are guilty of themselves and practises their own countries have engaged in, whether now or in the past. my perception of europeans is that they have exactly the same qualities as people in every part of the globe. |

Everyone wants papa Bush to bail them out. I see the europeans as survivors as they have had **** loads of massive wars with colossal loses. Thing is they always get involved |

Just what makes you think there have a better standard of living or even an equal one Have you ever lived there? I don't mean going for a few weeks
