There already is a cure for HIV. The pharmaceutical companies pay off politicians and others to keep it from being released. That is because they make more money from the suppression treatments then they would if they just cured it. I believe the government also has a cure for cancer but are paid off not to release it. |

Hahahaha, hilarious. Dont you think that first fof all that person would probably become insanely rich and famous and woudlnt need a "visa" for a better life here and most liekly that cure would be shared throughout the world. |

Anyone capable of inventing a cure for AIDS and proving that it worked could easily get a green card either as an exceptional scientist. You might think a solitary genius working in his home could discover a cure for AIDS, and I suppose that's possible, however unlikely, but you'd need a laboratory and all sorts of resources to prove that it worked. There's no reason for such a person to have been illegally in the United States. I see what you're getting at, but please try to come up with a more realistic example. |

No. Why should we? (puzzled by this very strange idea that someone swabbing out the toilets at Wendy's could invent the cure for HIV or, if he were that intelligence, why he would even need to be an illegal...just because he likes swabbing toilets? Even stranger, why this should negate any compliance with immigration laws.) What's the significance? |

You could sell an AIDS cure from anywhere - assuming you managed your international patent rights well enough (and, if you could manage that, you could manage to immigrate legally to any country you wanted).
Though, more likely, the same thing would happen as if a citizen invented such a cure - it'd be 'stolen' by a big pharmcuetical company, and he'd die penniless and forgotten. |

No of course not. If a convicted child molestor in prison invented it would we let him out? NO
(and he invented this HOW? mowing lawns for a dollar?) |

I like piphop's answer. It has the truth to it. |

Illegals don't have the resources and equipment to develop such a thing besides, if they did, they wouldn't need to come to America illegally. They'd have the best of homes in their own country. |

Dont you find it amusing the answers you get from the likes of SHERRILYNN and CRISSCROSS, these are the same types of people who swear they would work in the fields and fast food restaurants if it paid enough yet here they are making sarcastic and insulting remarks about those who do. How typical!!
And to answer your question, I dont think whoever invented the cure for HIV would care if they would hand him a Visa to any country, he/she would know they could pretty much go anywhere they wanted if they accomplished that. |

There is a category of visa for extraordinary talents. That is how we get so many nobel laureates.
He might be given the opportunity to adjust his status if he overstayed and didn't come illegally to begin with.
Otherwise, I guess he'd have to telecommute. |

That person would be killed by the government before the cure ever reached anyones hand. |

Why is it that every time the word "illegal' or "immigration" comes up, it is automatically associated with someone of Mexican descent? Granted, Mexican natives may constitute the majority of immigration into the United States, but there are other races/ethinicities/cultures/whatever term you want of immigrants coming in as well. |

No pharmaceutical company would have hire an illegal to figure the cure for HIV, because they could easily get him here on a work visa. Don't wory he can easily get visas for that because there are not enough smart Americans to fill all the research positions(as we can see by your question). All the people that do this work are Asian and Inaian that can get visas, they are not not Mexicans. All the companys have human resourse personell that take care of this stuff. |

Why would he want one you all are so proud of mexico he could make mexico rich besides he is only here for the free hand outs why else would he burn our flag and wave the mexican flag. Pay him and ship his a ss back to mexico. If I invented the cure for hiv I would move to mexico with him. |

The cure for HIV will most likely not be found in a field of lettuce. |

Piphop is right. Your 'what if' illegal would end up dead or discredited (possibly even imprisoned), instead of being given a visa. Same as any citizen who dared to interfere with pharmaceutical companies profits. |

he could cure himself and go home |

I'll give him a visa, take the cure and find out all about it, then kick him out :P |
