What are the best options for obtaining a 1-2 year visa in the U.S?

Im trying to help a friend obtain a visa to study and work here in the U.S for 1-2 years enough time to complete a degree at a community college...Unfortunately to obtain a student visa a sponsor is required who has at least 20k in the bank, this is the biggest problem, so basically we are trying to see alternative options.

If you have to study in US, you must obtain F1 Student Visa. If you want to work in US, you must obtain Workers visa. There is no other way around. Perhaps check if your friend can qualify J1 visa.

There's no such visa. There are work visas and there are student visas. There's no visa to allow your friend to work his/her way through school.
