What are the laws that Arizona and Oklahoma are using on their crackdown on illegals?

Additional Details
I need the specific laws so that I can write a letter to my governor and reps on the importance and how much money could be saved with the budget if they started to get rid of illegal aliens. I know Arizona has it to where they have stopped giving birth certificates to the illegal aliens which has helped crime drastically in that state. Please advise where I can get more information to where I can understand the laws and be able to put it in a letter.

You can do a search... Oklahoma illegal aliens law... and come up with something. Same with Arizona.

Arizon began giving the birth certificates out with these words... Born in the United States, but the mother could not prove citizenship. The illegal aliens stopped coming. 0;)-

The program they are suppose to be using is plan 287(g), but people like Joe Arpaio have been abusing it and only going after people with minor violations rather than on serious offenses, and that's what the program is intended for. The way this program is being used will actually cost us tax payers huge amounts of money.

You should actually write and tell them that gettin rid of more illegals will only hurt the economy. They are tax payers and consumers, so if you get rid of them, it will not only cripple more US companies, we will see less money pumped into the economy.

Report cites problems in ICE program targeting criminals

WASHINGTON - Immigration officials have failed to develop "key internal controls" over a controversial program that trains state and local police to identify illegal immigrants involved in crime, so some departments are focusing on minor violations rather than on serious offenses, according to federal investigators.

In Prince William County and elsewhere, 287(g) has proved a lightning rod for critics who charge that communities are using it to intimidate and that it can lead to a form of profiling in which officers stop individuals who appear Latino or foreign on the pretext of minor violations in order to check their immigration status.

The authors warned that confusion over the purpose of 287(g) could result in referrals of a "unmanageable number" of low-priority illegal immigrants to ICE as well as "misuse of authority" by local officials.

ARIZONA : A 2007 study by the University of Arizona 's Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy concluded that "the total state tax revenue attributable to immigrant workers was an estimated $2.4 billion (about $860 million for naturalized citizens plus about $1.5 billion for non-citizens). Balanced against estimated fiscal costs of $1.4 billion (for education, health care, and law enforcement), the net 2004 fiscal impact of immigrants in Arizona was positive by about $940 million." Moreover, the "2004 total economic output attributable to immigrant workers was about $44 billion ($15 billion for naturalized citizens and $29 billion for non-citizens). This output included $20 billion in labor and other income and resulted in approximately 400,000 full-time-equivalent jobs. (go to: www.ailf.com for the full report)

i think u should look into the REAL situation those two states are facing with out the undocumented before u send any letter , BOTH in Arizona and in Oklahoma many of the original proponents of such laws decided than it wasn't such good idea after they saw the results , i think that should tell A LOT to ANY smart person .

BTW if u are too lazy to look it up i will summarize it for u :

thousands of undocumented left .

thousands of new jobs appeared .

thousand of people did not show up for those jobs , many places had to close .

the Agricultural industry is facing problems .

of course this has to reduce everything ( the money the state receives and crime as well ) because this forces even residents and citizens to leave after the debacle ( Taxes have to go up because less people are buying products in Arizona and Arizona is able to produce less with less people ) .

now proponents of the same laws want to attract the undocumented back , although some of them are too stupid than they want to put restrictions in them while giving them permits to work , kind of contradictory if u ask me .
