What are the requirements for a Canadian permanent resident to enter US?

...and visit me. I really miss my friend and she would like to visit me and all of our friends in Chicago... She has lived in Canada as permanent resident for about 5 months now. Also, she's originally from Poland and as far as we all know she has overstayed her visa in US (which probably means she broke some law here).

Can she visit me? Any advise appreciated!

well if she overstayed her visa in USA - chances are high that she will be DENIED entry to USA.

even if she did not overstay, she would STILL have to apply for a visitor visa because she has peruvian and polish passports - and those countries still need visitor visas.

allow me to explain ... from my understanding, the kaczynski (poland), and the topalanek (czechy) governments behave much like exponents of the bush administration. in poland, also see balcerowicz plan and his connections with the morgan trust. anyway, to make a long story short, kaczynski`s government fell and tusk became prime minister and he`s saying no to building american military installations in central europe, and he`s saying no to the balcerowicz plan in favor of the euro. the czech republic parliament is also in the process of collapse -- in plain english, bloody difficult

secondly, she doesn`t have canadian citizenship. she`ll be travelling on her polish passport, which in reality makes it harder.

thirdly, i don`t trust obama one bit -- especially since he ran the most expensive campaign during an economic crisis, dished out lots of money to companies without any security (read shares), and is wanting to intrude on MY canadian privacy by wanting me to replace MY drivers license so he can see where i go. what nerve! under what right is he trying to pass a law in MY country?

i guess the only thing he`s got left is a good public relation staff, and blind faith of hopefuls. yeah, they`ll give her the visa, but they might throw her behind bars. you`d be best to visit her.

Generally speaking, a Canadian permanent resident does not require visa to enter US port. He or she may face INS agent for a short interview for the purpose of the trip.
It is correct, if applicant has a previous record of violation of law, than applicant may be denied access to us.
