Hello, I'm a 20 year old engaged woman from Jamaica and I'm marrying a Scotsman. We're planning our wedding for next year but i don't want to accidentally miss any legal things in case it becomes a problem in the future.
What visa should i apply for?
How soon will i be able to get a job?
What papers will i need to show to apply for a visa and a work permit?

There are for ways to get work permit in UK.
First is general HSMP. This is a point based system; you need to achieve ttheseoints.
Second is Sponsors Skilled Workers. For this you need an offer of job from UK.
Third is for temporary worker and it is not applied to you.
Fourth is for some specific situation which does not apply to you.

The only way you get a work permit to the UK if someone offers you a job. I'm afraid you have it the wrong way round. You would have to show the home office that you got an offer of a job and then they issue you a work permit.
