Anyone who wants to come to America should do it legally. Anyone who does it illegally should face the consequences as perscribed by law. It's that simple.

If they are being treated so badly then they can leave! There are more Americans that are treated badly by illegals!!

Illegals do have a chance, just like all immigrants that want to come here. They have to go through the NORMAL and LEGAL process just like the MILLIONS of other immigrants.

Immigration isn't the problem. Our economy is the problem. If our economy was strong, we'd turn a blind eye to all of these people that come here to work hard and support their families. Unfortunately we're allowing our govt and corporate interests do the same thing to America that Mexico's did to Mexico.

We can no longer afford to allow anybody in our country. We need to close the door until we get our affairs back in order.

The department of homeland security says you must have a visa to enter this country. Hispanic or not every foreign national must apply and be approved for a visa before entering this country period.

You break a law- you need to be punished that is how it works - if you are not willing to face the consequences of your actions including deportation and imprisonment maybe you should think twice before you commit the crime.

All men are created equal and all men must go through a process to enter this country legally.

And lastly- they had a chance and blew it.

Your right the founders of the United States did say all men are created equal, But there is no excuse for any human being treated badly. I figure if you want to live in the Unites States he or she should respect the laws of that country. This subject I feel is about just respecting the laws of the Constitution. Is it OK to do anything against the law even for U.S. citizens? No each and every person has to respect that.

we dont treat immigrants badly. the illegals choose not to follow the law so they must live like criminals. yes, all men are equal, but does that mean we have to bend over backwards to service every man? if you dont pay income tax to support our infrastructure, and live untraceably and move from place to place commit whatever acts you wanted with basically no consequence, how is that being equal to someone who pays taxes and busts a.ss all day long to make his salary? how is that fair to other americans? give them a chance to go back home and try to come here the legal way, like so many other millions of people do. you're not special just because you circumvent the law.

Under the law, anyone here illegally is subject to deportation. That is not treating them harshly. That is the law. There was no immigration law when the founding fathers wrote the constitution. No, they do not deserve a chance to stay here if entering or staying here illegally. If you want to look at harsh punishments, look at Mexico's laws. There, illegals are punished very harshly.

I have no problem with anyone immigrating to the US from any country, but do it through legal channels and do not expect good treatment when you try to skirt the system.

On a one-to-one basis, I think that most illegals here (atleast in my area) are pleasant, hard-working, God fearing people, and, I generally like them.....

However, on a political level, the damage that is being done to our country's infrastructure and economy is potentially devastating. So, my opinion of the entire group of "illegals" is less favorable because of this. Of course, this includes not only hispanic illegals, but, any illegals from anywhere in the world.

I hate that ANYONE be abused or harmed- ever. I am not sure what you mean by "treated so badly".... Physically harmed? No, they should not be physically harmed. They should be returned to their home when caught. And, I am sorry, but, you don't deserve a chance if you got here by cheating. I would use the comparison of a line of children waiting for a treat. IF Johnny pushes Mary down and steps in front of her, he does not get the first treat- BECAUSE he has done something wrong in order to be first.

They deserve the chance to become citizens legally. If they come here illegally, stay illegally, and siphon our resources at citizens' expense, they deserve to be deported. Not mistreated, not maligned... but deported. Plain and simple.

Is it equal to make people who have paid for schools and services give them to you at their expense and at the expense of their children, sick and elderly who need those services for themselves?

If so, where do you draw the line amongst the over 6 billion people in the world, 4 billion of whom are poorer than the average Mexican laborer? No services would exist if there weren't limits and the ability for those who pay for them to get the services they need. And illegal immigration exceeds those limits and causes education and services to fail the families that are paying for them. How is coming illegally to take what others have built and saved and put aside for their own rainy day 'equal'? Are we doing that to them?

It isn't a question of equality since anyone who acted the same would be treated the same - equally. Just like tax dodgers (at least those who are citizens, who get jailed instead of deported.) There is a penalty for a crime and a remedy for taking benefits not yours to take.

I don't know who told you they were being treated badly but they aren't. Mexico shoots and in prisons illegals. Malaysia canes them.

Simple they are ruining our country. When pilgrims came to America and your ancestors if you are not hispanic they did not wade ashore to find a Starbucks or grocery chain, they fought indians, snow and cold and many were murdered and raped by the indians. the mexicans had the same opportunity to make something of mexico but they trashed their country and now want to do the same to the United States. Why specifically Hispanics? You say you are aware that Hispanics are coming to this country illegally. Well, guess what? Not all illegal immigrants are Hispanic, and not all Hispanics in the U.S. are illegal immigrants. I'm so sick of people assuming that all illegal aliens are Hispanic.

My views on the immigration of Hispanics are the same as my views on immigrants of any race or ethnic group. I don't care how many people immigrate to the U.S., or whether they assimilate or not, as long as they immigrate legally. As for illegal immigration, I do not approve of it, but I do not assume that all illegal aliens are evil, dangerous, and despicable, like most people do. The truth is that most illegal immigrants are harmless, and they really are here for a better life. They just went about obtaining a better life in the wrong way. Most illegal immigrants are dirt poor and come from badly impoverished countries, and most of the people who despise illegal immigrants probably wouldn't last 10 seconds where they come from. Under the current system, immigrating into the U.S. is often a very difficult and lengthy process. If it were easier to immigrate legally, hardly anyone would find it necessary to immigrate illegally. That is why I think the best solution to the illegal immigration problem is to make it easier to immigrate legally. Illegal aliens already in the U.S. should be given the option of amnesty or deportation. Those who choose amnesty should be forced to pay higher taxes for the first few years they are citizens, as a sort of fine for immigrating illegally and to make up for not paying taxes before they got amnesty. Any illegal immigrant with a known criminal history (crimes other than illegal immigration) should not be granted amesty but deported.

To tenessee: In case you didn't realize this, Mexico was founded by Spanish invaders, not by natives. The Spanish settlers who conquered the territory that is now Mexico were no better than the European invaders who settled what became the U.S. They did the same things to the Native Americans in Mexico that were done to Native Americans in the U.S.: They mass murdered them, stole their land, introduced deadly diseases, and the survivors they either enslaved or forced to live on reservations in the worst land. In is the same anywhere in America, Africa, and Australia that was colonized by European countries or by the U.S.

i think the biggest problem is the immigration process is messed up, legal immigration should take a month, and that's simply a medical exam and some licensing fees,

instead we have a process that takes years were immigrants are expected to know more about out history and laws than the average high school graduate,

fix the system and we would have more legal immigrants and less illegal

yes they are coming to this country illigally but they are coming to better their lives and their childrens lives. Yes I do beleive they need to follow our laws, etc but you don't have to live like them, they are just trying to do good for themselves, so unless they are killing, etc if they are working and doing right why punish them

Actually, most of our Hispanic citizens are here legally. One prominent Hispanic is former Attorney General Gonzales. Did he deserve a chance?
