The only benefit I can see from mass immigration is the labour government will have 2 million + voters turning out the red flag on election day, so as long as they are in power they will keep coming, to keep them in power.
BTW, did you see in the news, they aren't allowed to xray wagons in france looking for illegal immigrants. They need to have permission to do it first:

I bet the french are ******* loving this.
edit: in response to an answer above, I know what your saying but we need to realise that only 10% of our national trade is with the EU and isn't worth as much as people think. what the **** do we need the EU for? To prop up the french economy? |

Cheap labor for the wealthy, of course! |

Apart from the better off getting cheaper child care/gardeners etc, and employers getting cheaper labour, nothing! As to them doing the jobs no one else will do, what a heap of s***e. They will do anything at any price because they know they will get working tax credits which in turn makes them eligible for every other benefit. OMG even I am getting sick of my own argument. I know most of them want to work, I know most of them are hard workers, but I also know that they send the majority of what they earn back to their homeland. The ONS published amazing statistics recently in regards to the money being shipped out of the country. Lets face it, even living four to a room and eating beans on toast five days a week is preferable to what they had in their own country. I work full time, I have no debts no credit cards and no "benefits" but I cannot afford to save. How can they afford to live here yet ship so much money out? It is illogical, corrupt or at least unfair. I read recently that somewhere down south was advertising for workers in Polish because they could not recruit, the work was not rocket science so why not get the bone idle off benefits and make them take the jobs? We have really put the cart before the horse in this country. Close the borders, get our own house in order, kick the EU in to touch, it is they who seek to destroy the fabric of this country. |

hear hear, i totally agree with everything you have said, its a wonder this poor little island doesnt sink, we are now a country full of scroungers and free wheelers taking our rights away from us or should i say being freely distributed to anyone who decides to come onboard for freebies, british people born and bred here have paid dues and taxes all their lives and rightly so more and more people are becoming very angry at how our little island is being taken over and all our houses building shops etc are now occupied by ethnic minorities. I hate it here, this is not the country i used to know. Most people will also agree the "R" word only has to be spoken and they think the world (or britain) is their oyster, and do you know what, they are right! Can you be our new prime minister please!!.... |

We're dealing with the same BS here over in the States. A 25 million strong problem. |

As already pointed out- the people who benefit are the middle class business owners who get plenty of cheap labour, the rest of us get our wages forced down and our jobs taken, for example ALL the bus drivers in my town are Polish, my friend who is a bus driver can't get a job, it really makes me sick. |

"we dont do duvets"...

The only people who truly benefit are the tight fisted employers who exploit their situation and pay them peanuts.
I think the government only puts up with it to keep in with the EU if they didn't they would be seen as the black sheep of Europe and trade relations would be strained to say the least !! :) |

I am not going to shout you down because you are right. The economy is starting to run into recession, and could start a backlash against all this unnecessary immigration. The reported unemployment figures are a fiction, there are hundreds of thousands on sickness/disability benefits who should actually be on the unemployment register.
This isn't just a debate about the economics behind immigration, it is about the social costs. You will be shouted down, but only by the naive, and unpatriotic lefties with an anarchist agenda. Are you worried about what they think? |

no benifits that i can see as most of them are unemployed or in low paid jobs paying very little tax,yet taking far more out the pot in return! if the goverment were to allow immigrants in to fill posts that we were short of,then no problem but otherwise its economic suicide! id also make sure that they could speak english and do away with all the translation services that we are paying a fortune for but i dont see a u turn in the near future |

There certainly could be benefits if the wrong types were filtered out before they set foot in the UK. There should be no room for those who break the law. If the do break the law on entry then they hide from the law and get exploited. Many ofcourse enter with other agendas. Religious Jehad's are the worst. They don't want to convert you ,they want you to accept their dogmas without question. The nicest among them do not come from Pakistan or Saudi ,but from Iraq ,Palestine or Lebanon strangely enough. The trouble is that everyone gets disliked in the crossfire. |

NONE, for the working class.
But come the next general election we can hopefully vote this so-called, ex-Blair, Brown-nosing, labour party out. (75% of them are Utter Rubish).
If there are any old labour party members who know not to **** on there own doorstep. STOP FALLING INTO TORY TRAPS
look at where your support is and look at the people. Then whaffle to to the rest |

it benefits the mother country as more room is made for the population to grow which in turn creates more migrants to come over to the UK. |

Roughly, a decline in population almost always means economic decline.
The UK population is 1) an ageing population and 2) has a birth rate too low for the indigenous population to replace itself, and has been since about 1971 (2.1 children per woman is the magic figure).
Last year, for the first time, the number of pensioners was HIGHER than the number of children under 16, a trend that's only going to grow.
We know from France that paying women to have more children doesn't work, so the only realistic way in the short term to ensure that the population is able to replace itself AND have enough working age people to pay for pensions, healthcare, education, etc., as well as to fill the skill shortages in health, engineering, IT, and sciences, is through immigration.
The birth rate managed to climb to 1.84 in 2006. While this figure has increased year on year since the record low in 2001, it's worth pointing out that a growing number of mothers are immigrants - just over a fifth in 2006, and an increase by 77% since 1996. The birth rate among first generation immigrant mothers is 2.5.
Although it can only be a short term solution as immigrants also age and future generations will also have lower birth rates, at the moment not only do immigrants fill the gaps in the workforce and essential services (especially the NHS), they also help add to the improving fertility rate. Thus freezing immigration, or, worse, kicking out non-British born people, will have a catastrophic effect on the economy in the short term, and on the people left on these islands for the next fifty years or so as the number of taxpayers crashes. |

where i work we have many polish customers and they are always polite and respectful unlike many of the british people that use our shop, don't know what all the fuss is about we've been living in other countries for years, look how many brits live in spain and how many of us are now buying properties in eastern europe because they are so cheap. There is good and bad in all people you can't tar all immigrants with the same brush all the ones i know do menial work that others don't want to do. |

I have benefited from immigration as I have met my wonderful husband. He beats any UK man hands down. No UK man can match him. |
