What do you Americans think of the immigrants of every species?

Give me your tired , your poor. Our country is huge, we can take in others. But I think they should bother to speak English. It is awkward sometimes, being places where there are other languages being spoken, but Britain has a lot of foreign immigrants and they don't have the room that we have.This is referred to as a free country. If immigrants commit crimes, they should go home, but if they want to work and build a life and be safe, I think we have to absorb some of them. Look at what they
are living with in some of these countries and see what we all have available to us just because we are here.

I understand that there are people in real crisis in their country and that their agenda is to take refuge from turmoil, however they must be willing to do it the legal way and they must also be forced to use the American English language. I think that the floodgates from Mexico should be closed because they have a different agenda. This will allow more room for those who truly deserve the safety of our country.

Illegal immigrants should be sent back - that's why they're called ILLEGAL immigrants.

Legal immigrants should stay. They were given permission by the government to stay. They pay taxes (hopefully) and contribute to society.

Illegal immigrants make money, don't pay taxes, take advantage of public education for their kids, take advantage of emergency rooms, take advantage of social programs not intended for them, etc, etc (those of us that do pay taxes, pay for all these things for them). They should be sent back. By definition they're comitting a crime by being here.

I welcome legal immigrants. I think they are what has made this country great. It is the illegal immigrates that have hurt our country and do not contribute to the bettering of it. It is the illegal immigrants who come here and do not assimilate and learn our language. It is the illegal immigrants who have moved into our cities and have turned them in to dirty gang ridden places and are killing innocent people.

Like I said I WELCOME legal immigrants but the illegals need to be rounded up and sent home.

first of all, if a immigrant stays in his country he is not a immigrant.
all immigrants are welcome, as long as they pay there taxes like everybody else and live a normal criminal free life.

First they should stay in their home countrys, if things are so bad, the first thought should be to stay and try to make things better, it will be in time a better place, for them and their familiys. But if this can not be done, they should find a country to move to, but do it legally, remembering to respect that country and its laws. Lastly, the illegal aliens here in the U. S. A., need to go, that is the fine for being here illegally, its called deportation.

The problem some had is that the forget migration is part of nature, and humans are part of nature.

LEGAL immigrants are a benefit to America. ILLEGAL ALIENS are a drain on our country. They are bankrupting California. They bring disease because they weren't immunized like the American kids. They are destroying our education and health care systems. They steal jobs and identities. They are breaking the law!

ILLEGAL aliens should go back to their home countries YESTERDAY! This has NOTHING to do with race. This is a legal matter!!!!

I could see amnesty in certain, specific conditions, for instance, proof of paying U.S. taxes for 5 years. Some illegal aliens do actually pay U.S. taxes. (See the first link below for info on resident alien taxation.) Sadly, it is easier to obtain credit as a foreigner in the U.S. than it is to become legal. I think all immigrants from every nation should be LEGAL immigrants, or return to their countries. We do not have room in the jails to jail all the illegals who got jobs with fake ids or obtained benefits under false pretenses, but they should be forced to pay back any benefits fraudulently obtained.

And I think the process to become legal should be simpler, not require a legal expert to process all the paperwork or dupe people into hiring companies that run immigration scams. (If you don't think these companies exist, check out the second link below.)
Sometimes people from other countries have better work ethic than those in our own country, and are willing to take minimum wage work when those born in this country feel "above" certain jobs. For this reason, the process should be made simpler for seasonal employers and food service employers (especially fast food) to hire newcomers to the country in areas where the unemployment rate is low.

After all, we are all the same species: homo sapiens. We are all people, regardless of the nation of origin.

For your information, immigrants belong to the human species just like you. When you talk about immigrants specify legal or illegal. Illegals must go back to their countries. Educate yourself before you post a question that offends immigrants.

Dude, of all people, as Americans we should be somewhat ashamed of ourselves!!!! Don't you all think that those coming to America illegally aren't trying to become citizens? To become an American citizen is very difficult and takes a long time!!!! Those ILLEGAL citizens you guys call are the ones almost risking their lives to even come here! And even if they survive, they are doing all the dirty jobs, that not even Americans would touch! Yes, I agree they should be documented to stay here, but C'mon give them a break. All of us are immigrants ourselves(I also meant your ancestors as well) America is supposed to be the best country of the world, and for we to talk hatred of illegal immigrants like that, with our huge land, is giving us a bad rep! There is nobody in America that is all-American, well unless of course, you are Native American! Think out it!!! We used to be immigrants!
