What do you think about programs for controlling immigration?

There is a program in New Zealand for reporting illegal immigrants. Those participating are given monetary compensation for their information leading to the capture of the immigrant or immigrants.

Here in the U.S. we can report an illegal alien, but we'd be lucky if we get compensated or even heard. You can report an illegal alien who is also a part of criminal activity, but it seems that nothing is done about!

You could find that very person committing other crimes within the year, but the government does nothing about it!

Do you think our Government has been so corrupted out of whack that all the things that have led our economy to this state are the very things being ignored???

I would not even care if I got paid as long as action was taken and the illegal criminal was deported. Secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws!!

I have said this before, use stimulus money for people reporting illegals, use money from confiscated vehicles, homes etc.. to fund program. Illegals and employers according to the law may have properties and vehicles forfeited.

Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.

All they would have to do is enforce current laws but there is no will to do that.

Well, it doesn't work in the US because most illegals are Mexican, and everybody knows that they do the jobs Americans don't want to do, and they contribute a whole lot to the USA. Report and deport them all, and our economy would really crumble.

Illegal immigrants' value to economy? $1.8 trillion

If the 8.1 million undocumented immigrants who cut lawns, bus tables and perform other jobs disappeared overnight, the nation's economy would lose nearly $1.8 trillion in annual spending.

Texas, the second-hardest-hit state after California, would lose 1.2 million undocumented workers and $220.7 billion in expenditures.

These are just some of the findings from a study done by the Perryman Group, a Waco-based economic analysis firm, whose work was commissioned by Americans for Immigration Reform, a group spearheaded by the Greater Houston Partnership.
