its a PR stunt to quiet down Americans that want the southern border secure
1200 is more than 6000....bash bush ha ha Pres. Obama is also pushing legal status for illegal aliens..that is the facts.
Obama's predecessor, Republican President George W. Bush, sent 6,000 National Guard troops to the border under Operation Jump Start in June 2006 to support the border patrol while they recruited more agents. |

What? Your Taxes aren't high enough ?? :o Moving thousands of National Guard Troops doesn't come cheaply- & we're talking about a LONG TERM Commitment here, not just a few Months. Even if we put 5k troops on that 3k mile Desert Border- that's STILL means there only 1 man for every half mile... -& enough open Spaces to run convoys of illegals through... Band-aids like troops & fences are NOT what's going to stop desperate people from coming into this Country... We need a Comprehensive Immigration Plan that the People on BOTH sides of the Border- respect & understand. And until Our politicians sit down in a bi-partisan WAY to hammer Out such a Plan...-what you "see" is what is going to continue (on ALL Sides)... :( |

It will be some time before we see some statistics on directional flow as in keeping illegals and drugs out, keeping money and weapons in, and deportation numbers.
Let's not forget the medical, educational and legal system burdens as well.
My gut reaction says it's a joke, especially so soon after meeting with Calderon. |
