I've been all over America a few times, and love the place. Your customer service shows up the UK's for what it is (4th rate) and generally I have found the people to be warm and friendly.
There is a lot of ignorance about the outside world in the US, which can piss people off, but Britain has plenty of idiots, too.
I think your government's revolting foreign policy has led to some declaring a hatred for all Americans, but I suppose they're just not seeing the whole picture.
btw I still prefer England! |

Personally I have never been to the USA, and therefore must make a judgement on what I have seen on TV shows - and unfortunately we have had Jerry Springer, Ricki Lake, etc. Also, I am not overkeen on American capitalist and consumer culture taking over the world the way it is. And lastly, would you mind awfully finding another name for your language other than English.
Rant over, I have met some very nice American people, and I'm sure your country is lovely. |

I've actually been thinking about moving to America. Britain's a nice place, but the weather is absolutely rubbish. America seems like a nice place too live, and I've heard that the people are really nice. |

Personally I have a very high regard for the American people. I was a young child during WW2 here in London and this is where I saw my very first Americans. I knew then that they were going to destroy the Nazis. I never questioned it then but I always remember it and what they did for us.
Later in my life I worked for abc News as their senior telegrapher at their London bureau for 25 years. So, I got to meet even more Americans. My opinion was enhanced by that experience and remains high.
We have a war on our hands. And yes, if people have to keep on sniping then just let them. It all seems too pointless and childish to me. I mean, war is a serious business.
Meanwhile the UK remains on high alert for yet another terror attack.

HM Queen is not allowed to make any kind of political statement. The above is the most powerfull message ever from the Queen - In French this is classified as Force Major. Royal Command.
You don't even have to ask - you know that UK is and always will be a staunch ally, in spite of the silly sniping. Listen to what's really happening - we're in this together and we are going to win.
If you come to London, go to St. Paul's Cathedral in the City of London and go to the American Chapel - there you will find the Great Book of Remembrance with the over 80,000 names of American service personnel who died fighting the Nazis.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
Here's how the Americans made me laugh until my sides split with the laughing....will you ever fly again??

I think they're cool, but some Americans are so competitive against us British, for example on xbox live :| |

I'd like to visit America and tour the place. The few Americans I've met are nice people. American beer is crap though. Bud is cool in a bottle but not on draught. Right now, if you want a proper beer, try a Polish drink called Tyskie. It's strong at 5.6%, a little heavy but it's got a refreshing lager flavour which actually TASTES of something. It's a good drink and, in my opinion, much better than English crap like Carling. |

Fine, but please just stop type-casting us in all your films and sitcoms (especially Seinfeld). Brits are usually cast in the US as: 1. Blubbering, fumbling idiots 2. Evil scheming sinister dudes. or 3. Poncy, upper-class twits. |

I don't like America. And I'm not your closest allie. Don't try and come all 'matey' with me. |

Which country? America is a continent. Peru? Argentina? Honduras? I am assuming that you are from the United States and arrogantly don't recognise the other countries which are in the continent of America. |

Americans are a warm and welcoming people. Unfortunately they voted Bush in twice and tried to wreck the planet... but what can you do.... except go and and vote for something right, and something different. |

The only British that think Americans are loud, obnoxious, overweight, boisterous, dumb, lacking-all-common-sense, self-centered, lazy, totally uneducated and ignorant are the ones that are jealous they live in the U.K, and not America.
Most of the British I have met like Americans, the ones that don't and lie about American are doing so to make their crap nation and untuthlful people look better.
Now it's 80 degrees out and a great day so I'm going to the beach. |

Pretty much the same as we felt about Germany just before the second world war. Sitting and watching a consensus of apathy allow very bad people to do very bad things isn't a pleasant show. |

If you travel to the U.K., watch your stuff and don't' tell them your America,
Most of them over there are thieves, liars and since they are pretentious and judge an entire nation by a few people, it's best not to mention your Americans. |

Right I'm not going to be mean but here goes, this is not my view but the general British one;
Americans are loud, obnoxious, overweight, boystrious, dumb, lacking-all-common-sense, self-centered, lazy, totally uneducated and ignorant.
But at the same time I guess we'd say you are organised and make good burgers.
Sorry
