If you are allowed to be in a country for 6 months and after 5 months you are in a serious car accident which requires you to stay in the hospital for a few months, do you still get in trouble with immigration?

No, just make sure that when you return home you check back in at the embassy and submit proof on why you overstayed and you will not be banned from coming back... A lot of people dont know this but like on a h2 visa you are allowed to stay in the country for up to 3 years after teh expiration date w/o punishment,,, now if you get caught with the expired visa yes they will send you back, but you will not receive a ban if its less than 3 years,,,,, |

You had better be prepared to document it very carefully, and even then it would be a judgement call on the part of the airport immigration officer. You could always have someone help you file an extension request with USCIS as well. |

Apply for an extension of the visitor visa and have someone else do it for you. You also need to have money to PAY for ALL the medical treatment |

No, your hospital/doctor should write a letter to support your application for visa extension and they (the doctor/hospital) should estimate the period needed for this person to recover. |

People have heart transplants and go home in about two weeks. That would have to be one heck of an accident to keep a person in the hospital for 2 months.
You would need extensive documentation of your hospitalization. |
