I think illegals have. They are driving down wages, they have inundated our schools with English learners, they have overloaded our hospitals, they drive up car insurance, they crowed our freeways, ........ ETC................. I could go on and on but those are the big ones. |

While the Iraq War isn't cheap,it is a short term expense in comparison to the Illegal Aliens that keep piling into the U.S. Unfortunately most cannot always get a decent job,because of limitations...especially being Illegal to begin with! So they end up putting a strain on the Social Safety Nets-instead! They often do not pay into them,but take an awful lot out of them! Sure,on a short term basis-Iraq is damned expensive! But the cost of an "out of control" immigration policy...has been a costly burden to the American Taxpayer,and most people simply do not want to foot the bill...especially when alot of the Alien's are here illegally in the first place! This problem has been going on-for quite a long time. Very few politician's have ever been willing to address the Issue,because of fear of repercussions by a certain percentage of the Votership! So try to tally up the costs...and I would be almost certain,that it would exceed the cost of Iraq-Overall! Yes...Legally applying Immigrant's should have some Rights and Privileges! But Illegal Aliens-Should be shown the Door! They also make it difficult for the Legally Applying Immigrant's...who applied honestly,and took the proper way! They have to suffer the same Wrath...from those who are already annoyed about the Immigration Fiasco! For the Record...I am Pro-Immigrant,but I am Anti-Immigration! At least in its current Format!!! |

I say both. The war is costing America an extremely large amount of money, war casualties and allies.
Illegal immigrants who abuse government aid programs and/or go to jail, cost American workers hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes a year. Plus they make hardworking decent legal immigrants look bad. There are some legal immigrants here who take a lot of harsh name calling because of the illegal ones. |

Because we are footing the bill for the war on less wages because notthe illegal aliens, i dont blame them.. if i was them id be doing same thing providing for their and their families livelihood. i blame the people that continue hiring the illegal aliens. If we just stepped up our borders to say canada's level and punishing the people hiring illegals we could definatly be heading in better direction. Because when our boys docome home and they get back to a more regular life and look for employment. Will they not be able to get one because theres no longer a need for "protector of freedom?" I guess he/she could become an illegal immigrant too? it seems like every debate always seems to end up repub. vs democrat.. why?? does one or other get you special priveleges? simple fact is both are for one reason.. so nothing ever gets resolved cause the votes always 50/50. how about the real party---the american party. i heard that american idol raised over 55 million dollars to help feed hungry people in other countries... lol AMERICAN idol.. how ironic... Everymorning i donate extra change to a hungry guy standing in front of mcdonalds. still wearing the stars and bars on the only thing he has left from nam. Unable to work cause you cant dig ditches with one leg. 55 million i can imagine how a person face must look ,because everymorning when i stop to chat with my american idol, his face lights up like i gave him a million bucks. all im saying take care of ourselves first and from there play it forward . Why dont we make all illegals pay up front their "passport" to govt. and let em be. wait isnt that what we do? whats said is cereal boxes at walmart are bilingual on one side and i got flip over to read them. Although illegal immigration does put a strain on taxes presently, I think what people are neglecting to mention is that we are not paying the price of this war yet. Most of the money used to fight this war is borrowed. As such, we will be swamped in debt in a few years time when it comes time to pay our foreign debtors, and I bet the strain of paying off the billions of dollars in principal along with the interest will be more than the strain of paying taxes for illegal immigration. |
