an H2b is a temporary work visa for seasonal or temporary employment. the maximum issuance is 2 years. your employer would have to file a petition for you through USCIS. once it's approved it goes out to the embassy overseas. until that happens, you can't be considered for an H2b visa.

The H2B visa is issue for a temporary non-agricultural worker. The employer would file an I-129, petition for a non-immigrant worker. On that form the employer will request time needed for the worker. It could be for 3 month or up to two years and that is how long they can stay in the U.S.

Good luck!!!
