Let's see, We offer freedoms that most other countries dont, we provide aid to everyone and then some. We wear what we want, say what we want, and basically do what we want. There is a lot "great" about America. But, like any other naiton, there are things that are "not-so-great". I guess a lot of people love America because they are born here or they have lived here most of their lives. Saying America is "The greatest nation in the world" is really based on a subjective viewpoint. Everyone loves their own nation the most, there really is no measure to compare one nation to another. Perhaps the standard of living index, but even that isn't as accurate as people think. |

The people are what makes America great.They are a diverse group of people, different nationalities, different religions , different customs but in time of need they can pull to gather and face the problem. when the hurricane hit Louisiana,Mississippi and Alabama people from all over the country came as volunteers to help . Now we have the storm damage in the mid west and as soon as they give the all clear you will see the help start to move in. When a disaster hits another country who is one of the first to offer aid, the Americans.I could go on and on but I think you know where I'm cmming from. . |

Your freedom to ask that question is just one example of what is great about America. I don't know just where you live but I could just bet that you eat because the USA sends food to wherever you are. Just ask Fidel Castro or Hugo Chavez where they get their food from. The answer is the GREAT USA. |

Travel about the world for almost a decade like I did and you won't ask that question.
This country allows you the freedom to sit on your a$$, do nothing, blame others for your real or imagined problems and complain about making minimum wage.
It also allows you the freedom to pursue your dreams, work hard, go to school, get educated and make something of yourself.
You have the freedom to be a useless drain on society or one of it's pillars of strength. The choice is all yours, there's no one to blame for your lot in life but yourself and only you can pat yourself on the back for a job well done
That's what great about America. |

What America represents - freedom, liberty, and equality for all.
America's also a very powerful country, especially for one so young. It's one of the only superpowers left. Some might even say it's the only superpower left.
However like all countries, America isn't perfect and has many flaws. |

I have lived here since I was born many years ago so I have nothing to compare it to first hand, although I have visited other countries. All I can say is that this is the ONLY country people want to come to - to immigrate to - to live in - for the rest of their lives. Few ever want to leave.
Why is this so? It is the ultimate "test" of and for a great country - spelled "America" - land of the free - home of the brave. |

Don't be fooled into thinking that America is so great...I am a biracial woman in America and I don't think it is as great as people want say it is. There is so much HATE here in the USA. And in the small town that I live in if you are not white you don't matter. The white people here have all the money and they say what jobs come and what jobs go. They would rather keep the less fortunate down by paying $5.15 an hour. There was this big company here about 3 yrs ago, that payed good money, and they sent it across seas. And now the only thing that comes here to this town is fast food and movie theaters. Then i see these movie stars who makes millions and they blow it on drugs and alcohol. The cost of living keeps going up but not our salaries. How do they expect a person to live off of $5.15 an hour. So what is so great about America, I don't know and I have lived here all of my life and i can't see it. If you ask me all the people in the WHITE HOUSE need to try to live off of $5.15 an hour and see how far they will go. |
