Who else is going to do the things we choose already not to do.
legalize those that are already here, give em the right to work, and you will get more taxes out of it. Make healthcare Universal, and we don't have to worry about the hospitals issues!

watch the movie, " A day without a Mexican" and you will understand............ or are you ready to pay me 40.00 an hour to pick oranges. I hope there that good, cause that's what it will take to get em off trees if there is no one else to pick em!

They should be deported as they come up on the radar. Stopped for speeding... deport. Seeking medical attention...treat then deport. Applying for SS deport. They are undermining our nations affluence by performing jobs at less than desireable wages. Some will say they do jobs that Americans don't want...Not true, Americans don't want them at the price that illegals are willing to do them for. By coming here illegally they have already shown some disdain for our laws, how can they be trusted to follow the rest of them? My way would deport them slowly, with no big "round-up" spreading costs over years. It also allows for the fed to monitor activities.

deportation for thse who crossed the border illegally. for those who got caught up in the complicated immigration system, like with work and marriage visa's, and over stayed without knowing, they should have some sort of path to citizenship. I agree that congress must do whats best for americans, not illegals.

First I have lived in two cities that are a very big part of the illegal debate. I have lived in Tucson which is on an open border in Arizona, and Farmers Branch which passed a bill to enforce federal immigration laws to ban renting to illegals.

The first problem with illegaly entering the country is that it creates a market for smugglers (a.k.a. coyotes). Coyotes often shoot at and run from border patrol agents. They usually end up in a wreck and hurt many illegals and many Americans. The Coyotes often work for drug cartels in Mexico and many smuggling routes are being fought over right now. This creates more violence and empowers already strong drug cartels.

The next problem comes from illegals obtaining false identification and working illegaly under someone else's social security number. Fraud cases like these only become evident when you get audited by the IRS for the extra 20K you have been making for the past 10 years and didn't pay taxes on. Often the same illegals will apply for and use credit with no intention of paying back the money borrowed.
The social health system is also abused by the same false identification.

There is also the change in lifestyle that occures. More people living in a smaller area. The population density thickens thus more trash is littered in a smaller area making it appear trashier. Often many illegals will gather on certain corners waiting for day labor. If you drive through these areas in a pick up, the illegals will try to climb in the pick up when you stop and often when it is still moving. They do this thinking that you are offering work. Due to there being areas know for day laborers many will congregate. As more congregate they are generally dirty due to prior work, or dressed for they job they anticipate doing. Looking at a corner with 100 - 200 poorly dressed or dirty men, causes people to feel intimidated. Also things which may be acceptable in their country, like cars on the lawn, are frowned upon here. This in turn causes property values to decrease.

We should bring our troops back from Iraq and station them along the border. We currently percieve middle eastern countries as our biggest threat and our border areas often have the same type of terrain as these middle eastern countries. This will help train our troops on terrain that is most similiar to where they may be called upon to fight next.

We need to mandate tougher laws against anyone caught assisting in illegal immigration. Longer sentences for smugglers. The illegals should be fingerprinted and let go with a "warning" in their language. A second offense should result in jail time with a requirement to be on a "chain gang" (work program) to support the undue stress on the American tax payers pocket.

All employers ahould be required to verify social security numbers against a photo id. They should also be required to call these numbers in and check them against a Federal database that is currently in existance today. We need to also punish those responsible for employing illegals with jail time. Including those in human resources associates, and CEO's who's business have over 5% illegals.

We need to create a path to citizenship with a limited number of entrants each year. This path to citizenship needs to be administered not in the USA, but at the American Embassy in the forgein countries. You can not apply in the USA. This path to citizenship should include an assestment that requires basic proffenciency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language. The applicant must possess a skill suitable to earn a sustianable wage. Examples are welders, carpenters, tile setters, lawyer, doctor, translator, ....etc. The applicant is not eligable for any type of social assistance such as disability or welfare for a minimum of 5 years. For the first 2 years the applicant would have to report to a social service worker similar to a probation or parole office. They must also pay a nominal fee to help pay the salary of the workers. During the first 2 years their residency may be revoked due to unemployment, crime, or failed drug test. After two years they are given a permanate resident status. After 5 years they are given U.S. Citizenship.

why don't we just do this? we close the southern border and tell the mexican government that until they clean up their act and country, we will not allow any of their people into ours. while the borders are closed, look for all illegals no matter the cost and throw them out. we need our government to look after its citizens not someone else's and we need them to stop catering to criminals.

Actually I think Open Immigration would be best. With the plan:
1. Abolish ALL restrictions and quotas LIMITING illegal Imm. into the US.

anyway the benefits are
1. Better Economy (more workers= better economy)
2. Immigration won't require any as many deaths.
3. Immigrants here won't be exploited.

I grew up in Southern NM and have watched the Illegal Alien change over the last 50 years. Let them have a path to citizenship would be a disaster. The current crop of Illegals coming up from the Mexican border are 90% Mexican citizens who do not want to work for a better life they want to steal it. I am a retired Electrical contractor who speaks fluent Spanish. Going to school the ratio of Chicano, Anglo, Black, was 7, 3, and 1. The Anglos and Blacks learned the local dialect of Spanish to survive. In 5th grade we all started taking Castilian Spanish for 4 years. The Instructor was very good and taught us to recognize the accents and dialects so I can recognize where most Latinos come from.

I have listened to the Illegals on construction sites plan the following crimes: rape, theft, armed robbery, murder, and overthrowing the US Government. I have reported some and ignored others. The police did not believe me at first after three murders, and two armed robberies they started investigating the others and found out my information was golden. Some damn fool told a suspect and they tried to kill me. Four dead Illegals taught them to leave me alone. Fortunately NM still has civilized laws and it is legal to defend yourself and your family.

What would be best for America would be to make it a 2nd degree felony to be in the USA without proper documents if you are not a Citizen. If you are convicted of this crime you will be put to work cleaning up Superfund sites with hand tools. Aiding and abetting someone committing this felony would be convicted of a 3 degree felony and receive the same sentence. This would include renting to, hiring, and granting sanctuary, assisting illegals cross the border by providing food, water, or shelter.

The ones here illegally should be deported. Yes this will be a time consuming, expensive process but well worth it in the end. The costs of illegals is too much of a strain on American citizens and it has got to stop. If they were to receive amnesty it would be a slap in the face for all the legal ones who did the right thing. They do not have any positive force in America, only negative in the long run.

Lets think about the English speak here... people go to Mexico for vacations right? why do americans speak english over there why dont they learn english... now many hispanic people are learning more english and they still work for u ... get any job so u can have a clean lawn, cars, and even your home.... economy will go down... all Hispanic people are working on the farms trying to get you to eat fresh fruit, vegetables, are you guys doing that ? are you taking risks on dirty jobs? think and then answer me dont talk like a crazy person

Ok first of all it is not up to you to judge whether or not the reason they came to America. And since they are now hear the best thing is to develop a plan that is best FOR them. As American we should part of the solution. Not add to the problem.

I think they in some ways help the economy but then again
everything now is in Spanish or press 2 for English
so I am a bit on the fence as they are all pretty much here illegally and if they want to be here so bad speak English
