What is the most annoying and ridiculous invalid argument for / against illegal immigration?

There is no valid argument for illegal immigration. "For illegal immigration." That's like saying you are "for illegal drugs." You might mean you think drugs should be legal, but you don't actually mean you think they should be illegal because you want to continue breaking the law while you use them.

People who give arguments "for illegal immigration" actually mean that they feel sorry for the illegal immigrants and don't want them to be deported, but they don't actually think that it is better for everyone around the world to immigrate illegally. They are arguing for their friends and family who have already done that or who are contemplating it. They aren't arguing that the poor man in Africa should not immigrate legally but should immigrate illegally.

There is no ridiculous argument against illegal immigration (see explanation above), but a lot of people confuse the problems of illegal immigration as a racial problem or a problem because "all them illegals is Mexicans" etc. This is stupid and it has nothing to do with illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is illegal no matter what country the illegal immigrant comes from or how big of a criminal he is or isn't, etc. Pointing out the number of crimes committed by illegals or the fact that "they don't speak English" is irrelevant. If they didn't commit any other crimes besides working and living illegally in the US, and if they spoke perfect English, they would still be illegal.

I'm staunchly anti - illegal immigration, so I'm annoyed by almost all of the arguments in favor of snubbing American border law. The most annoying is "they're just trying to better themselves and make a good life." If I steal your car and sell it for college tuition, should I be forgiven because I did it to better myself? I'd steal your car (in theory) for the same reason illegals circumvent the immigration process. It's easier and cheaper. So no matter what noble purpose I broke the law for, I'd still be a rotten car thief and I'd go directly to jail if caught.

I think the argument that "America was founded by immigrants" is a fairly ridiculous argument for illegal immigration. We aren't trapped by our history. It's like arguing that since America had slavery in the past, slavery is ok today. Or... since Australia was founded as a prison colony, they should accept all the world's criminals as immigrants.

As for the "against" side - every time I see someone suggest we need a moratorium on all immigration, I wish I could reach through my computer screen and shake them. It's such a silly idea. First, it does not distinguish between legal and illegal immigration; second, a moratorium won't stop illegal immigration; third, it would prevent us from accepting the immigrants we need/want.

The most ridiculous argument I hear all the time is that we should be grateful for illegal immigrants because we are all immigrants unless we are Native Americans. That is a fallacy because the Native Americans did not create the United States of America. They may be able to lay claim to being the first "Americans" by virtue of them being in the American continent first, but they have no special rights to being declared the first citizens of the United States of America. The founding fathers and all those that were present in 1776, when the Continental Congress drafted and signed the Declaration of Independence were the first true citizens of the United States. The people that came afterwards were immigrants, but they have since become legal citizens and have acclimated to the U.S. way of life. Illegals have not done such.

All arguments for illegal immigrants annoy me to no end. There is no excuse for them to be here. NONE.

America is not a public park. No country on earth allows people to just waltz right in unannounced and declare themselves a citizen and demand benefits at the expense of the majority. In fact, in some countries, illegal immigrants would be shot on sight.

But the one that annoys me the most is the "You're just a racist" excuse. People use that one to dodge the issue and silence their opponent.

If racism was the reason, people would be just as annoyed with legal immigrants who come from non white countries.

If you are white and pro illegal, ask yourself this.

What kind of country will our children and grandchildren inherit when they become the minority and it's popular to hate them?

I hate the whole thing about them helping the ecomomy and heres why:
There is a lot of propaganda about economic problems happening if we send illegals back home....they say that the economy will suffer because Americans will not do those dirty jobs (farming, mcdonalds ect) but the truth is, that is because those jobs don't pay enough for an American....if you look at the bigger picture and see all the benefits (health, education, food, welfare) being abused by illegals, you'll see they get things for free that many hard working American's can't get for free, therefore we can't take small jobs that pay nothing because we need the money, they don't need it because they're leeching off of the system.
If we sent them back and Americans could take jobs that the illegals were doing , sure the business would have to pay them a little more, but all in all, less public services like welfare will be abused, and it will not be hurting the economy as much!

The most ridiculous is when SOME people say " Illegal is illegal", ( How many laws have changed over the years, and how many crimes are committed by legal people)
The other one is "deport, deport, deport", it shows immaturity and unrealistic expectations, of course made by people who only believe that sarcasm is a good resource because it represents the type of person that they are.
The other is said by SOME antis: " I am a patriot, you are a troll" when pros say things that antis don't like and don't have an answer. Of course when they say something bad, they applaud themselves, but they are not considering that trolling, they call it patriotism.

The most ridiculous defense the Americans have is "my ancestors came here legally" or better yet "I am not in immigrant". We are al immigrants because someone in your family tree came to the US for some reason, and when they did there was hardly any paperwork involved. Citizenship was basically given to them, now in days it's not that easy. I guess the darker skinned aren't as lucky ;)
