What is the process of getting a work visa for America?

I'm a newly qualified music teacher however I am finding it impossible to get a job? I am from Northern Ireland and work under the title of "substitute teacher" but I'm only got 1 day work from that in 3 months. My aunt lives in Oregon and I was considering working there for a while. I just don't know the ways and means of going about this and what visa's etc I would require. I would love to work in a primary (elementary) school with children between 7 and 10. Can someone possibly give me an idea of how I should start going aobut this.
