What is your TRUE objection to illegal immigration?
|
I had to ask myself this question, because sometimes people jump on bandwagons concerning issues without really thinking things through.
It is understandable not to want others to have an unfair advantage. This is one reason I oppose illegal immigration.
Also, the notion that dumb, illiterate people could successfully bypass the immigration laws and the patrols that are set up to prevent them from entering this sovereign nation illegally is insulting. And the arrogance they demonstrate in demanding to remain here is contemptuous.
Why is it unreasonable to expect that they each can and should be deported? Deport them all. They should apply for citizenship legally if they want to become good citizens. Until then, they are criminals.

My objection to illegal immigrants, and I stress the ILLEGAL part, is that they are looking for something for nothing. They come into this country illegally, obtain illegal social security cards and green cards, take jobs from US citizens and legal immigrants, claim 7-8-9 dependents on their W-4 forms to be sure that absolutely no Federal Income taxes are withheld... the reason they dont claim 10 or more is because the IRS requires that w-4 forms with 10 or more dependents be reported to them. When their dependents are here, they claim all kinds of social services that are available. They never use their married name and never report their spouses income. SO a family of four can be paying absolutely no income tax, receiving free school lunches, receive State and/or Federal medical care thru MEDICAID or State run insurance programs, receive food stamps and low income housing subsidies which often include utility subsidies, place a tremendous strain on our educational systems to provide classes in English and Spanish, and then demonstrate and say they have a "RIGHT" to be here because they are "honest" workers? That is Bull S***. Get real.... every one caught without legal documentation to be in this country should be deported immediately.. or as soon as they get a busload, which would be pretty quick if our laws were inforced! This applies to not only Mexican aliens, but to all those from Central and South America, China, The Phillpines, Vietnam, The Caribbean and Cuba. And if they aren't Mexican send them to Mexico anyway. They got here on their own, they can get home on their own just as easy. If Mexico doens't like it... Tough. Let them get a little dose of what they have been giving the USA for so many years.
If you can read this thank a teacher. Have a great day. |

Immigration laws are in place to protect the country from undesirable criminal elements, i.e. terrorists, violent criminals, drug traffickers et al. When people break the immigration laws, they reveal a loophole and if the government does not take firm action, there is no deterrent. There is enough crime in the US. Why allow more to be imported? |

My true objection to "illegal immigration" is the fact that by definition they are CRIMINALS. There are legal ways to enter this country and become a citizen. The illegals are receiving a ton financial help, i.e. working, therefore receiving income, and not paying taxes, and they get to take advantage of many of the tax funded benefits offered by this country again with out contributing. |

1. they are ILLEGAL
2. they are unchecked for diseases which is done for legal immigrants...they are, for example, bringing in tuberculosis which we eradicated long ago.
3. no background check...the good come in with the bad...
4. legal immigrants have to come in legally and go through the process as set up by the government. illegals just walk over the border and bypass this very important process.
these are my objections to illegal aliens...but the real problem lies not with them...the mexican government promises its people that all they have to do is get over the border and everything they want will be given to them...and our government then proves to them that this is in fact, true.
it is this collaboration by these two governments despite the objections of the american people that i find so reprehensible. to me, this is treason of the highest order and for this reason, not the war in iraq, george w. bush should rightly be impeached. |

If the government can send people to the moon, then please tell me how come we can't round up and deport these people?
They know where they are because a majority live in Cali, Ariz, Texas, NY, and NJ.
They know where they work because many work at the same places because one hears about it and spreads the message (sort of like the underground railroad).
They know where they bank because banks like Wells fargo and Bank of America.
It is insulting when they tell us that we cannot stop these people from coming across the border because, in truth, we all know that they wont because too many people are making too much money (just like the supposed "War on Drugs").
Truthfully, I hate that people are allowed to just cross the border, send their kids to our schools (where they receive free lunch, books, utensils, etc.), and then cry about the fact that we aren't doing enough for them.
That's the main reason that people are so outraged about the whole illegal immigration thing in thefirst place. |

Increased costs of health care for legal citizens due to Illegals using the health care system and skipping on their bills, not to mention hospital closures due to bankruptcy.

Because, the United States has a perfectly liberal and sound immigration law. Many people every day abide by that law. Hence, the word "illegal". and more......
My children were given an ss number shortly after birth. Their records; health, school, etc. are readily available to law enforcement agencies if (God forbid) needed. Why would we give special dispensation to those folks who refuse to abide by our laws? They don't have to pay taxes, but want free health and food? I do not support the Mayor of San Francisco, who calls his city a "sanctuary" for illegal aliens, and has ordered the Police NOT to interfere with illegal aliens, and not to enforce immigration laws. I won't be vacationing there any time soon. |

I am against illegal immigration because it is wrong plain and simple. It has economic, security, environmental, sociological, etc prices that are show why it should not be allowed and peoples' emotions override all the facts with one word "racism". I do not appreciate using this mudslinging to mask the pro-illegals lack of a real argument.
It is a threat to security as they could bring weapons
It is a threat to public health as diseases can be brought in without treatment and cause epidemics
It is a threat to environment as flora+fauna can be brought in that has no place in our ecology which could destroy local ecological balance
These are just 3 reasons why it is stupid to allow and it doesn't matter what race either...illegal is illegal |

My true objection is the fact my family paid dearly for relatives to immigrate from Europe legally. These Mexicans and others cross our borders and are invited to stay legally for free by our government! |

Minus the fact that they don't pay taxes, learn English, work, contribute to society. Minus the fact that they pickett our country, talk ill of it and its people, burn our flag while flying theirs, expect a handout and not a handshake I have no objection to illegal immigration |

First it is not very smart entering the US illegally. You put yourself behind in a chance to have a better life. Really being here illegally doesn't serve much of a benifit because you will always be living in poverty and squalor. Second it is not fair to those who truely want to come here. Many people lawfully wait in line go through the interviews and all the other red tape are pushed back because of illegals. |

#1 reason:
Because they bring in diseases.... Mumps, TB, Rubella, Smallpox, etc. Not ONE of them is immunized.
#2 reason:
Because I can see it FIRST HAND in my town; they bring drugs, blight, gangs and crime. I don't dare go downtown alone at night. |

Every person for illegal immigration should be forced to compensate these innocent people who have had their social security numbers and identities stolen by these illegals who invade our country with no care who they hurt. They should have to not only compensate the money lost from their social security accounts after they are zeroed out once the fraud is detected, but every last cent the victims had to pay taking time off work, every cent that went into photocopying documentation, every cent that went towards lawyers and gas driving somewhere to get this mess taken care of, and any other financial expenditure the victim had to cough up. They should also be forced to compensate the victims for the emotional hardships endured. They should have to compensate for the money and time spent trying to straighten out their credit ratings after these illegals have ruined them. They should be forced to compensate these victims for every single hardship related to what these illegals have inflicted upon these people. Currently, the system does not provide any compensation at all and a lot of people are never restored to previctimization status. Oh but these pro-illegals claim that illegal immigration is a victimless crime that hurts no one and that we are whining when we complain.
'Total purgatory' for taxpayers
Frustration can mount for victims of this kind of fraud. Eventually, the government agencies involved do catch up with the legitimate consumers; but often, not until they are looking for money. Victims can have trouble getting disability or unemployment benefits. The government doesn’t try to alert victims of their victimizations, they usually find out by chance when they’ve been victimized further.
Other victims find the Internal Revenue Service on their backs, looking for payment of back taxes for wages earned by their imposters. Some see refunds held up by the confusion; others see their wages garnished.
Victims find themselves in a financial nightmare. All those imitators make a mess out of their work histories, Social Security benefits records and credit reports. Victims are haunted by bills and creditors. Victims receive threatening letters from the IRS, asking to pay taxes on money earned by these illegal Mexican colonizers. Victims are told to re-pay unemployment benefits they had received, after the government discovers they were "working" while drawing benefits when it was really these illegal Mexican invaders all along.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6814673
You think these illegals care that they are hurting innocent lives? Their loyalty is to Mexico. They proved that during one of the first rallies when they took down the American flag, hung up the Mexican flag, and then hung the American flag upside down underneath it. THAT is how they feel about America.
http://michellemalkin.com/archives/004869.htm
Then the people who want to appease them pull out the excuses about how people who are not even alive now, and haven't been for hundreds of years, 'stole' the land from the American Indians. Even American politicians are carrying out this traitorous attack on our sovereignty! If this keeps up, the United States of America will become a 3rd world country, just like Mexico! Mexico's problems are not the fault of Americans, but they are becoming our problems because the Mexicans are invading us and bringing their problems with them.
The illegals make up about 5 % of the work force. The unemployment rate is about 4.5%. Keep in mind that the unemployment rate does NOT represent everyone who is unemployed. It only counts those who are collecting unemployment. Everyone else's plight is ignored. The unemployment rate if everyone was counted would be tremendous. We do NOT have a shortage of labor, we have a large surplus. The more illegals that come in and take our jobs at minimum wage or less (often less) puts more and more Americans out of a job. Most of these Americans are never counted in the unemployment rate if they do not manage to get unemployment benefits. Unemployment benefits are hard to receive.
Illegals draw welfare by stealing people's social security numbers and identities. That means there are a lot of people being directly hurt by these people as well. Innocent people are having their credit ratings ruined, having IRS problems, and social security problems. If someone who has had their social security number stolen gets married, if either spouse dies or become disabled then they can be denied their benefits.
The illegals get welfare by stealing social security numbers and identities and using false papers. Therefore, the time limits under the Clinton welfare reform doesn't apply to them because once the time limit is up, all they have to do is get new stolen social security numbers and identities and false papers and start all over again. American citizens who draw welfare are limited to the time limits from the welfare reform and are then cut off. American citizens who fall on hard times and have to turn to welfare assistance have a harder time finding jobs that pay enough to live off of because the illegals have taken jobs and depressed the wages of those jobs still available to American citizens. Therefore, those in the lower working class are highly unlikely to ever be able to "work their way up" since the opportunities have been stolen which will entrap these people into poverty with little to no way out.
My family moved to the US before WWII. Those of my family that didn't make it over got killed by the death camps. Our family assimilated to the American culture. We didn't expect the Americans to change to suit us. The illegal immigrants from Mexico are not civilized like that.
They not only changed the National Anthem to Spanish, they changed the words. They already burn our flag and hang our flag upside down. They waved the Mexican flag during a lot of their protests. Some schools have stopped hanging the American flag and forbidden students from wearing clothes with any part of the American flag on their clothing all to keep from offending the Mexicans. It's nothing short of an attack of our country, not only by the illegal aliens, but those who seek to appease them.
I am tired of the stereotype that Americans wouldn't do the work that illegals do. Illegals do all kinds of jobs for less than minimum wage which drives the wages down for U.S. citizens. Construction jobs are an example. There are lots of illegals doing construction jobs that Americans used to do because the companies can keep more of the profits if they pay less for the workers. All that does is make companies wealthier and Americans poorer. Illegals are stealing jobs that Americans have done for years.
"Mexico is waging war on the U.S. through mass immigration illegal and legal, through the assertion of Mexican national claims over the U.S., and through the subversion of its laws and sovereignty, all having the common end of bringing the southwestern part of the U.S. under the control of the expanding Mexican nation, and of increasing Mexico’s political and cultural influence over the U.S. as a whole.
Cultural imperialism
We experience Mexico’s assault on our country incrementally—as a series of mini-crises, each of which calls forth ever-renewed debates and perhaps some tiny change of policy. Because it has been with us so long and has become part of the cultural and political air we breathe, it is hard for us to see the deep logic behind our “immigration problem.” Focused as we are on border incursions, border enforcement, illegal alien crime, guest worker proposals, changes of government in Mexico City, and other such transient problems and events—all of them framed by the media’s obfuscation of whether or not illegal immigration’s costs outweigh its benefits and by the maudlin script of “immigrant rights”—we don’t get the Big Picture: that the Mexican government is promoting and carrying out an attack on the United States.
Another reason we miss what’s happening is that our focus is on the immigrants as individuals. Thus our leaders talk about illegal immigrants as “good dads,” “hard working folks” seeking to better their lives and their family’s prospects. In fact, this is not about individual immigrants and their families, legal or illegal. It is about a great national migration, a nation of people moving into our nation’s land, in order to reproduce on it their own nation and people and push ours aside.
Thus, in orchestrating this war on America, the Mexican state is representing the desires of the Mexican people as a whole.
What are these desires?
(1) Political revanchism—to regain control of the territories Mexico lost to the U.S. in 1848, thus avenging themselves for the humiliations they feel they have suffered at our hands for the last century and a half;
(2) Cultural imperialism—to expand the Mexican culture and the Spanish language into North America; and especially
(3) Economic parasitism—to maintain and increase the flow of billions of dollars that Mexicans in the U.S. send back to their relatives at home every year, a major factor keeping the chronically troubled Mexican economy afloat and the corrupt Mexican political system cocooned in its status quo. "

The fact that they are breaking the laws and using services that I have to pay for. I do not blame them for wanting to come here, If I was them I would too. I do not think deporting all of them is realistic, as it is also our fault for turning a blind eye for so many years and buisness keeping it a secret. They should all have to registar and apply for a visa. Give them 3 months to do it. After that if you find one deport them, if they commit a crime deport them, if they are unemployed deport them. |

They are criminals because they don't pay taxes like regular citizens do. When they pay taxes like law abiding citizens then they can be legal and stay in our country. Too many immigrants are skirting the system and not paying taxes which is why everyone is in an uproar. |

Legal vs illegal-
I keep seeing people who claim their only objection to illegal immigration is that it is "illegal," ie, people are breaking the law by doing it. Let's keep in mind that Rosa Parks broke the law too.
People enter this country illegally because there is NO viable legal alternative. Why don't you people do some research before you come on here spewing with hatred. Go to the INS website and see for yourself how easy it is to get a work visa- and then you'll see why so many people work illegally.
Arrogance to remain here? It's not arrogance! It's the simple need to survive! I don't know much about other countries, but in Mexico, you can work your butt off all week, even in a white collar job, and make maybe $45. That's not enough to give your family a decent living- even there. That's why people come here- they are desperate for a better life, and there is no legal alternative. |

You seem to be confusing the difference between criminal activity and the violation of civil statutes. Immigration violations are not crimes.
This "sovereign nation" had no problem seizing half the territory of Mexico in the nineteenth century and violating its own treaty obligation to allow free passage between the two countries by citizens of each "forever". Which is more serious, a treaty violation by a powerful nation or the violation by Mexican citizens of an illegal US statute? (By US law, international treaties are considered the law of the land, but who is going to hold the US to obeying its own laws?) |
