What is your opinion on illegal smuggling of animals into the US?

Wild animals as well as domesticated. Parrots from the Amazon, Macaws from Africa, dogs, cats, even fish.

Whats your opinion? What should the punishment be for those who do this?

It's wrong because it introduces diseases animals here aren't capable of fighting off and predators that animals here aren't equipped to handle therefore endangering our wildlife (and to a certain extent domestic) populations.
I think jail time and high fines would be appropriate. Maybe passport bans for repeat offenders.

The animals are just looking for a better life. Maybe these animals are doing the jobs other animals won't do LOL ; )

My opinion?

It is illegal. That is why it is called "smuggling". We have laws in this country for a reason to prevent the smuggling of wild and exotic animals.

It is often because those animals can have a severe impact in this country with the spread of unique diseases to native populations and also possibly altering the structure of the ecosystem. therfore, in order to prevent bird flu and other diseases from infecting the US poultry supply. Those laws are needed and should be enforced to the fullest extent of the law.
