What is your stance on immigration?

I am in favor of immigration. Immigrants can and do offer a wide variety of skills. Yes skills. Even the immigrants who come here that don't have a higher education, they provide a much needed service. Immigrants, hispanics especially, work hard for the money they earn. They often take jobs that other Americans won't take, because they are either too lazy, or think the work is 'beneath' them.
They offer an inside look into different cultures. Just take the time to get to know some immigrants, and your life will be enriched all the more for it.
As a whole, I find it very difficult to feel aggressive and negative feelings towards illegal immigrants. If you try and put yourself in their shoes, you may look at it differently also. Imagine if your spouse and children were living in poverty, going hungry, very little to no education, poor health care...wouldn't you want to do whatever it took to take care of them? I know I would! And if it meant sneaking into a different country, working for lower wages than the locals (because the wages we so much more than I could earn in my own country) with the constant dream of a better life for my family, I would take the chance to run the boarder. If we made it simpler for them, then maybe we wouldn't have so many illegals here. My heart goes out to the ones who come here simply seeking a better way of life.

I do believe that the U.S. is more than too liberal dealing with illegal immigrants. I abhor illegal immigrants no matter what their reasons are. Illegal means outside the law or against the law which equates to criminal acts committed by none other than criminals. Millions of immigrated to the U.S. legally and each person wanting to immigrate to the U.S. should do so legally along with the rest of the law abiding yearning to be legal residence of the U.S.

I think our existing laws should be enforced. I am all for LEGAL immigration. Follow and respect our immigration laws. If you break the law and enter illegally, you should be deported. I think those who employ illegals should suffer stiff penalties.
I am also tired of being called racist because I think illegal immigrants should follow the laws like everyone else.

Illegal immigration is a plague on our country, and we should demand that our fed and state govts do all that they can to arrest and deport these unwanted invaders.

Legal immigration into the USA is way to high. We allowed 2 million, mostly third worlders, into the USA last year. Quite simply, the USA's immigration policy is insane!

i think people need to stay in their own country! because now since mexicans are coming over to the united states were having to learn spanish instead of them having to learn english their also going to take over and they cause a lot of wrecks with drunk driving and illegal drugs and everything but dont mistake me some mexicans are not all like that ;)

I do not mind people fleeing their homeland to make a life for themselves here in the U.S, as long as they do it LEGALLY!! I personally believe that a person who is an illegal immigrant does not deserve the rights that others, who are here legally, do. I do not feel sorry for the people who have lived here most of their lives and are deported. They have had many years to become a legal citizen. In Arizona, we passed a law that will prosecute a business for hiring an illegal citizen, since that happened the crime rate has gone up tremendously.

if our country has a need for importing immigrants i see know reason not to allow it.that said we have a over abundance of people who are good with there hands and limited intelligence we do not need this type of work force..

I have no problem with legal immigration. I have a problem with immigrants who come here illegally and then demand rights and legalization when they did not bother to respect the laws to begin with. The U.S. has laws for immigration, not everyone likes them, but we can't please everyone. I see nothing wrong with the current system except for lack of enforcement, which allowed them to settle here. What I want is total enforcement of the current laws or at the very least if they are going to do an amnesty, secure the borders first. If there's an amnesty, more will follow. .

I'm opposed to ALL immigration both legal and illegal it causes lots of problems and urban sprawl and over population. It is not necessary to take in as many as we do even though we don't have to take in any at all.

Most Mexicans who come here are extremely hard workers, who work hard to support their families back home. I don't think that is a horrible thing by any means.
I can't imagine sending someone back to poverty, particularly children. I think that is cruel.
However, I think that it's important that there should be more legal citizens than illegal. I think we should offer illegal immigrants the chance of becoming legal U.S. citizens.
I don't support deporting them, overall. If families are going to be torn apart with if we deport, I would never support that.

i feel that all problems caused by imagration are only from the government ,not from the action of someone entering here illeagaly.i know who the bully is,if the government has no control over it,why penalize us with it?

I think we all need to remember that most Americans are descended from immigrants. That being said, i think anyone who comes here should have all the rights we have.
