What makes illegal invaders think they are 'justified' in breaking our laws, abusing our?

We have politicians in office who have their priorities mixed, and if you look at many of the states and their abysmal records of fiscal stewardship, it's apparent that they have no real concept of law or anything like that, either. But, until recall elections throw some of these people out of office for some of their dealings we'll continue having illegal aliens in our country.

Public accountability is what it all boils down to, and there is very little of that in some states, which is why they're billions and billions in debt etc., and it's why they've turned a tin ear to vociferous objections of many to having illegal aliens in our country. For a bunch of people that think 'they know what's best for us', kind of like with kids, they sure act pretty stupidly.

Getting illegal aliens out of the country starts in your state legislature, by making sure you don't have any state representatives that are pro-amnesty etc. Remember that there's a money angle here, somewhere, if someone was not profiting by lax enforcement on immigration, it wouldn't be happening.

Also, I do not think just because other people break our laws it is okay for illegals to do it too. If that is the case, we legal Americans should just have at it and rob banks. Maybe hide in a Church to gain public sympathy. Great Question.

perhaps part of the problem is the fact that the punishment those few have received have not been just, it does not fit the crime, perhaps America has been too lenient on them. i mean seriously if you can cross the border illegally, outrun the border patrol and then be allowed to turn around and sue them, or cross illegally, be shot at and watch the border patrol agents be the ones to get in trouble instead of you, or how about march in the streets demanding rights when you are here illegally and the government lets you go right on doing it, that sends a pretty clear message that you can pretty much do as you please. can you imagine going over to France or Germany and doing such things? you'd probably be shot on sight. (not that these countries are barbaric) but they would not tolerate this and neither should we, if they were shown that punishment would be swift and harsh, i highly doubt they would be so brazen to show their faces and wave for the cameras while committing the crimes

When you analyze the Democratic party you will find that most of them are for illegal immigration. When you analyze the Republican party you find that most of them are for illegal immigration. It is a matter of votes from the Mexican Americans who are here and can vote. A politician will sell out his country if it means more votes for him and his party. Were there a Independent party perhaps it would be different? We require something politically to tear the two parties apart and give the caring voter the right to pick someone WHO stands for the middle of the road but with honesty and integrity.

Our nation is extraordinarily wealthy. Imagine if you live in a small town in a huge mansion. All the other houses are turd shacks, except for one of your neighbors. Your dad insists on leaving all the doors unlocked and all the windows open. He likes them to come in and work on the house because he can give them 25 cents to mow the whole lawn. He doesn't like to hire his own kids, because they want 10 bucks to mow the lawn. The kids have decided they will mow the lawn for 5 bucks and try to do a better job than the 25 cent kids. Dad will not quit hiring the other kids for 25 cents though.
Look at this another way - the reason the war on drugs is a massive failure is because US citizens will pay TOP dollar for them. The government says no drugs, but our dollars say YES. The reason all the illegal aliens come here is for work. The moneyed class and the corporations of our country are falling all over themselves to hire them. How can we expect them to stop coming over?
This is a self-inflicted wound. It's our own citizens doing this. The upshot is going to be that US citizens are going to have to figure out how to mow those lawns for 25 cents and still live. The wealthier are going to get wealthier, and the poor are going to get poorer. Pretty soon, the US will be like Mexico, with a huge gap between the fabulously rich and the unimaginably poor.

They come here for the jobs, plain and simple. They can earn far more working at jobs in US, compared to the low wages they get in their home country.

The federal government does not have enough INS or border control agents to 'round them all up' and send them home, so the undocumented immigrants come here knowing the odds of them being deported are a very low probability. And the United States justice systems assumes a person is innocent until proven guilty, so immigrants are entitled to due process before being deported.

The citizens of the US have told their government that they do not want to have identify papers in order to travel freely in the US. The result is that we don't have fool-proof, counterfeit-proof documents for all people living here that 'prove' a person is a legal US resident or citizen. If you want to change that, talk with your congressman and senator.

Most employers do not have enough resources to check all kinds of possible employee identifcation for authenticity. The largest ones do, but small employers don't. If the US were to crack down on undocumented immigrants at work, as many as 3 million jobs would go unfilled - jobs in agriculture, meatpacking, janitorial service, hotel services, construction labor.

I believe the US needs to recognize these undocumented workers, give them a legal guest worker status - if they come forward and apply, and can document US residency. But don't put them in the front of the line to citizenship ahead of other people who have followed the naturalization path according to law. The undocumenteds will have to wait.

Probably because our own government and elected officials are breaking the law on a daily basis.

If they are not accountable for their actions, that sends the message that breaking the law is acceptable as long as you don't get caught. And even if you do get caught, as long as you can claim a good reason.

What nationality do you originate from? Maybe your ancestors fled to the states and procreated in order to give you a better life. You may not have much of a say either. If greedy Americans wouldn't employ them for slave wages they wouldn't have a reason to come. Many of these people have lived, worked and contributed to our economy for years. Oh, I am sorry that your welfare benefits have been compromised. Grab a torch and pitchfork.
