What should illegal immigrants do to fight this law that they are trying to pass?

As a Mexican-American, i believe we should stick together on this, just like black people did when they were fighting for equal rights. Do not second guess ourselves about fighting for the right to be here. If some stupid and ignorant people got their citizenship at birth, why can't illegal immigrants get it? Aside from the fact they came illegally, illegal immigrants contribute by paying taxes and work hard in this country. I am getting irritated by all these people who say illegal is illegal and legal is legal, what kind of crap are these people thinking because without these people the U.S would be nothing.

Illegal aliens do not belong in the USA unless they do it legally. Period. How dare they come here and demand rights when they cannot even bother to obey the law. That goes for ANY nationality.

Oh, and if you are here ILLEGALLY, you don't have a Representative. As for 'doing all the dirty jobs Americans won't', that's crap too. Illegals have as many well-paying jobs as minimum wage ones.

protest (by joining marches, or joining in on the boycott May 1st) or contact your local representative and call or send a letter stating your opinion on how they should vote. Other than that, there is not much you can do.

Racially speaking we are all equal...but if you are not a citizen legally then you have no rights to the benifits this country has to offer! Therefore not equal!
(People say that the Mexicans are doing jobs we wouldn't...well if they were legal citizens they wouldn't do those same jobs they would hollar for atleast min. wage just like we do!!!)

A person who crosses the border illegally does not have the same rights as people who are born here or come here through the legal way. Are we equal? Yes, all humans are equal. Does that mean they deserve to become American citizens after breaking the law to get into our country? Absolutely not. Amnesty for all illegals is not the way to go.

No one is trying to send anyone back. Who started this chaos? Our government only wants to insure the SAFETY of the people crossing the borders & wants to help keep them safe by allowing them to become part of American society by issuing them LEGAL IDENTIFICATION so that they will not be treated unfairly as they have been and are now being treated by many in our society. We will all be equal in the eyes of our government when this is over (at least on a tax basis)

They are doing everything they can.That's what the marches were about, that's what 5/1/06 will be about.I'm not too worried about it, they aren't going to send them all home.But I do think they are going to change the laws.I just hope they don't do too much damage.

Why don't you spend a little time researching the illegal immigrant policy of some other countrys? You might find it interesting....
Mexico for example: If you are caught there illegally, you are imprisoned and then immediately deported! No welfare, no food stamps, no tax-free wages and free health care.
Now tell me....why shouldn't we follow the same policy when they jump our borders?

If you are illegal you basically don't have any rights in the country that you live. If you don't like that fact you have to leave, if you can accept that you are a criminal by just being there then stay, it's your choice, unless you are caught then it is not your choice as you are sent home.

Illegals give all LEGAL IMMIGRANTS a bad name; as it is difficult for the general public to differentiate so all people from a certain ethnic group are tarred with the same brush of ILLEGAL. This is not fair on the people who have gone through the whole process of coming to there adoptive country legally.

One person on here said that MEXICO should be adopted as a state of the USA, this would be a solution, so the best thing that you can do is go back to your home nation, start a political movement, and get the people to hold a referendum that there country wants to join the USA as part of there nation - then ASK the USA if they wish for you to become part of there country.

First of all, you must realize that they cannot deport 12 million people OR jail 12 million people. We do not have the manpower or the money to do so. So Im not too worried a out this. But don't say that this doesn't affect me either, some of my family are illegal and a lot of my friends are too. I understand the putrage, but truthfully, its understandable why the government is cracking down. But htink of this, if people wanted to get in, just cross the border thats all. I mean a 400 mile chain link fence aint gonna do jack ****. Wire cutters wll get right pass that. And you can just dig under it. Plus border patrol can't do ****. You think that that like just a few patrolmen can control over 400 miles of desert?? i highly doubt it. besides, you can always baot right up from baja. HECK just stash someone in the trunk and come over. As long as you're an american they won't touch you. I crossedd the border and back with out a license. Its nothing. But here's another thing, i hate to sound racist or discriminatory but first of all a lot of mexicans persay did cross the border ILLEGALLY, to work here ILLEGALLY and in doing so, counteracting what unions are trying to do to better workers rights, and also, they're increasing ILLEGAL crimes such as fake passports and drugs and green card, and a lot are also using government support ILLEGALLY, and NOT paying thier taxes. Sure you can try to justify it by saying that you're trying to make things better but in reality you're only supporting a corrupt system of government ruled by facist pigs and wal-mart ideas of politics. Aliens are destroying the base of our country, workers getting laid off so that an immigrant can take his place. Companies allowing this so that they can save money. This isn't a race war, its a battle for the sake of our nation. But just one more thing. THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO IMMIGRANTS!!! Sure they're here illegally but, if we were to just suddenly remove all of them, states like california and florida would go poof. we need the immigrants too. We need them to keep our country alive. They should turn themselves in for breaking the law. There is a process for applying for citizenship into the United States of America, and it does not include illegally sneaking across any boders.

I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this.

I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.

So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.

2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.

3. All government forms need to be printed in English.

4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.

5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.

6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.

7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.

8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.

9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.

10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.

11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.

12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.

13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S.from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.

However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P.

Sigh - why is it so difficult to for people to understand the difference between LEGAL and ILLEGAL?? Illegal means just that - laws have been broken - to say these people are not criminal is a travesty! Why follow ANY laws then? Why pay parking fines? Why pay taxes? Hey ... what's good for the goose is good for the gander - if illegal immigrants are not criminals, then tax dodgers and burglars etc. are not criminals either, right?

Illegal immigrants broke the law to get here. They don't respect our laws. They don't respect our country. They come here to steal our jobs and send the money back to Mexico. We are equal as human beings. If you come into this country legally then you don't need to worry. They need to be punished for coming here illegally. If someone was to kill your family would you want them to be prosecuted?
