First we need to secure the borders. Until the unrestricted influx is stopped, it makes no sense to deal with the ones that are here. Any illegal alien that is here and not working should be deported. The penalties for hiring people that do not have the right to work in the US need to be increased to the point that it does not make sense to do so.

Cooperation is what makes our nation work. Are there criminals here? Absolutely! But for the most part, the general public is willing to follow laws to keep this a great place to live. We cannot be a free country if we cannot self govern...(which does not just mean voting...but also means to self-regulate, to voluntarily follow the rules even when no one is looking.)

How, then, can we maintain this freedom all the while turning a blind eye to the blatant disregard that illegal aliens show toward the laws of the U.S.? We cannot.

Immigration into any nation is not a human right. Immigration should always benefit THE NATION not drain it. Therefore, policy should always call for what would be best for the nation. Current policy on the books would do the trick to end illegal immigration...if only it were enforced.

2- Change the constitution and ban that children of illegal aliens born on US soil are Americans same for Children of tourists, and visa overstayers.
3- legalize the Immigrants on US soil that have not commited Crimes.

I think we need to take most or all of the taxpayers money that goes to welfare and free healthcare, and use it to pay for more and better enforcement of the laws that are already in place. Then we need to come up with a system that allows people that want to migrate here, to be able to do it more easily and quicker. But people that are already here illegally would not be eligible, until they return to their country of origin, and go through the proper channels like everyone else. We have the money and the ability to do these things. We need people to realize that this is a sovreign (sp?) nation, and that our laws are ultimate and final, and anyone who breaks them is subject to punishment. People also need to realize that this is a special place, unlike anywhere else on earth, made so special by immigrants for the past 231 years, who came here to embrace the American way of life. People should feel proud to come here, it is a privilege, not a right.

The illegals are illegal in this country .
Now if the supporters of them want them here , then they should support as many illegals as they can afford to .
That means , find them a place to live or take them into their homes and provide them with food , insurance , schooling , a job and help them become legal citizens of the USA .
They should be responsible for them legally and physically until they are American Citizens and can pay their own way . And not be a burden on the American Taxpayer .

secure the borders and stop the media from bashing the border guards who are only doing their jobs and protecting the U.S. from crimes such as drug dealing. Illegal immigrants have no right to be in America, they are costing citizens billions in taxes and are taking advantage of the politicians and media whose only objective is to "be nice to everyone" no matter the cost to public and national safety and the law.

A few weeks ago some people mentioned putting alligators in a mote at the border. I heard on the radio that someone is actually thinking about putting alligators in the Rio Grande and Tijuana rivers! Interesting idea!

First we have to get the semantics straight. Comprehensive reform has nothing to do with granting amnesty. You do not have to have amnesty to enforce the law. The comprehensive reform that we need is to get the government agencies to work in concert with the law. Look the other way policies have got to go. Sanctuary cities have got to go. Border Patrol "non -pursuit" policies have got to go. We pass laws and then our government agencies adopt "internal" policies that prevent us from actually enforcing the law. Take, for example, the department of agriculture cooperating with the mexican consulate and using taxpayer dollars to advertise on spanish speaking television and radio their right to apply for foodstamps.
The program is classic, we will look the other way, we will not question your legality, we will not turn you in to proper authorities. We just want you to come get your foodstamps at taxpayer expense.
There are numerous examples of our government aiding and abetting illegal aliens in defiance of their own laws. We need to stop offering these inducements.

We need to interpret the 14th amendment as written and per the intent of it's authors. The 14th amendment does not grant birthright citizenship to the offspring of illegal aliens. It, in fact, specifically denies it. Anyone that has studied the 14th amendment, it's authors, and the proceedings of the 39th Congress can tell you that. The authors of the citizenship clause and the congress in general, did not view american citizenship as something to be handed out like some cheap prize out of a cereal box. There has never been a supreme court case , or any case for that matter, which decided otherwise.

Plyler v Doe. Now here is a example of a Supreme Court that way overreached their authority. The "Doe" was to protect the ILLEGAL alien plaintiffs identity. The Supreme Court actually aided and abetted by shielding the identities of the lawbreakers from enforcement officials. Guess what? if they would have turned the plaintiffs over to INS they would have been deported, end of story, case closed. Instead, the Supreme beings found hidden between the lines of the 14th amendment the right of those in this country illegally to a taxpayer paid education and then forbade school officials from turning the "students " over to INS. There you have it. The first officially mandated look the other way policy.

I could go on and on but the short answer is this.

Apply common sense. Common sense goes a long way.

First we secure the border and take away any reason for them being here. No jobs,welfare etc. Many will leave on their own. We allow all authorities to be involved in the deportation process. If they're caught here they get deported. It's a fairly simple plan really but very workable I believe.

then, the next year introduce a 50% tax cut for any legal citizen who reports an undocumented illegal citizen.

use the tax surplus from the previous year to deport illegals and improve border control.

announce a nationwide statement that tells all illegal immigrants that they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law if found after 6 months. create operational deportation centers that will ship off illegals.

also improve the legalization process so that illegals can have the option of becoming legal citizens.

and all americans should have to pay a set percentage of their annual income, it would make things much easier, and it would stop giving the upper class a break.

1. There will be NO special bilingual programs in the schools, NO special ballots for elections, and all government business will be conducted in our language.

2. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote, no matter how long they are here.

3. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.

4. Foreigners will NOT be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, NO food stamps, NO health care, nor any other government assistance programs.

5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are NOT allowed to own water front property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into

7. Foreigners may NOT protest; NO demonstrations, NO waving a foreign flag, NO political organizing, NO 'bad-mouthing' our president or his policies.
If you do you will be sent home.

8. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.

Enforce the law. Start arresting business owners who are illegally (yes it is still illegal to hire illegals) hiring illegals and that will end the problem in 90 days or less.

Mexico shoots Guatemalans illegally crossing their borders and jails the survivors for 2 years or more in horrific Mexican immigration jails. Ok, this is an obvious one, but there is a little known fact that 12 million illegal immigrants won't be deported, ever, it's not going to happen. So I got through that. Now, what else can we do to all the illegals (all the good ones)?. . . . .We make them legal, because there is no way in hell the government or the US will let them continue to remain illegal. I think they should come up with a way where the good ones are the target here and are the ones who become legalized, as far as the real illegal criminals such as killers, rapists, etc, I don't care, if they are found, deport them.

But I do understand the other side of the argument, that they broke the law entering, or that it's not fair for the ones who did it the legal way but to tell you the truth, it's too late, they are here, deal with it, they will be legalized in 3-4 years.

well as far as illegal immigration enforcing the laws would have been a great idea in the first place but the problem is we don't seem to know how to. The whole system is really missed up right now. so i think we may need to rewrite the current laws cause it seems not to be working. These so called undocumented immigrants are here to stay and i really think that this amnesty bill would have helped a little though. Well tell you the truth im not to worried about some day laborers and his family causing harm, what i am worried about is the border being a breeding ground for terrorist activities. i have been by the US and Mexican border and it is war over there. The bottom line is that most of the people coming in illegally just want to come here and work, but im so worried that one day that the wrong person would slip in and cause serious problems for us. so my solution to the problem is to fix the border down there in Mexico and also in Canada, rewrite the current immigration laws to make it impossible for any one to dear come here illegally. after all that is done, then legalize the 12 to 20millon people already here in the country after an intensive background check on every single person. Because deporting 12 to 20million people is physically impossible and that would never happen in the first place. i think 12 to 20 million people would do us great in the long run as far as the economy anyways.

I am for a pretty unrestricted immigration policy and for a path to citizenship. My biggest problem with the current system is not knowing who is here. I have no problem with the current levels of legal+illegal immigration, but I would just like to know who is coming here to prevent trouble makers from getting in among the vast majority of good people just looking for a better life.

Help them become legal. Write and e-mail your congressmen. After they all become legal, I am sure white Americans will still blame them for their shortcomings.

Americans have the opportunity to do what ever it takes to make a living and better themselves. Do not give me that BS about what other Americans will do for you. Give illegals the same opportunity and they will do the same as any other American. Nothing is going to be given to them they will have to work for it.
