The government has already began going after companies that hire illegals and heavily fining them. This is not getting into the press though (big surprise). Yes, there needs to be much more work in this area and the president has already committed budget $$'s to more than double the teams who find these employers who hire the illegals. There is a software available for employers to use that will verify legal status and it needs to be more widely distributed. The employers are claiming "I didn't know".

I see from your other questions that you're probably talking about the illegals from Mexico and south entering the US.

At least they didn't come in columns of tanks, artillary pieces and cruise missles, shock and awe style, blowing everything that moves to smithereens, provoking a civil war as a distraction, then staying for the oil money, like how the US visits other countries. Mostly they just came to the US to do our dirty work. It's not right, but it sure could be worse.

I assume you means the 12 million people invasion from the south of illegal immigrants? First look at a little history so you know what is about to happen unless we make changes;

1) Mid 1980's the Republican President and Democratic Congress grant amnesty to 3 million illegal immigrants. Its now 20 years later and they want to give 12 million illegal immigrants amnesty...whats up in 20 years? If you the math is consistent it would be 48 million - ouch.

2) Militant "hate" groups of hispanics are very very small and fly under the radar - today - but how long will that last as the numbers of people in their culture grow?

3) Name one country that has successfully integrated so many cultures in such sizes and still exists with out conflict? - You can't.

So what do we do? We must encourage every like minded individual to vote against a politician that supports amnesty. We must send a message and get a few high profile leaders un elected because of this stance. That will be the shot across the bow the others will get. While the Senate supports amnesty there are plenty of house representatives that do as well. We need to dump a senator or two and about 12 to 15 congressmen that do - the rest will fold like dry towels.

Get out and vote, get out a pen and paper, and write your representatives. There's no better cure for a bad situation than people exercising the vote to take care of business. Also, if it seems like your representative is unresponsive on the voting issue, file a petition and start getting signatures to get em recalled, specificially in response to that issue.

I feel that illegal immigration's one of those festering problems that we've swept under the carpet for too long, and now that it's crawling out and walking around the house, people are in some cases noticing for the Very First Time that there's A Problem.

At the end of the day, we're still a nation of laws.When we get better laws passed that'll actually address the problem, and enough enforcement behind those laws to do the job right, then we'll see change, not before, because the tack that Mexico's taking right now is 'catch me if you can'. Well, we can, but it'll be really expensive, I think if they did an initiative nationwide to raise federal taxes $5 per taxpayer to fund a special initiative to get the border with Mexico buttoned up, that'd go a long way towards nipping this issue in the bud. But, then again, there's no guarantee that the $5 would really go towards border enforcement, money has a habit of disappearing, somehow, in Washington, I think, and the lightning speed with which this administration's gone after the problem bespeaks a general lack of commitment and/or some fairly serious conflicts of interest...

There is only one way that I know of to get them to go home on there own, and that is to stop purchasing products from businesses that hire illegals. Stop hiring services from them such as construction, landscaping, and house cleaning services. This will stop illegally operated businesses run by illegals from making any stolen money. If the government won't uphold the laws regarding businesses that hire illegals, it is every Americans choice not to use those business's products. Every time an American who spends money in either of these businesses, are supporting the illegal alien movement to take what they have not earned. Every time I have brought this up, some one says that is too cruel, you must take it out on the businesses not the illegal alien. This is taking action toward the businesses, and the illegal has a choice to either try and find another job, go to another country, or go back to theirs.

We need to take a strong stand one way or another.
First of all, any solution should include the following...No more giving any type of aid (military, financial, etc.) to foreigners whether here or abroad. No more allowing foreigners live and work here. Foreigners should be tourists and visitors, not usurpers. Force employers to operate in the US and only hire US citizens (at legal living wages with required benefits). Do not educate them or provide them with any service except emergency room service (before sending them home to hospital in their own country). Don't allow them to vote, have American or state ID, driver's licenses, etc. They aren't citizens and don't deserve the same rights as citizens. Their only rights are to life, safety, golden rule, etc. and a good visit in US. Not to live, work, receive benefits here.
Then EITHER annex Mexico and profit from their taxes, etc. (if we can't round them all up). This is kind of a 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' approach in reverse. If we can't beat 'em, make them join us and obey our laws, etc.
OR if we can round 'em all up, collect all of the foreigners who are living and working here and send them home. (not the tourists of course)
