I'd really like to leave the UK, but obviously had it too good for too long and can't adjust to potential slavery.
Where would you emmigrate to if you could, and why ?

Surprise! The hot spots for Brit expats: Cyprus, Gibraltar, Singapore, Hong Kong.
For Americans: Costa Rica, Panama, Caymans, Australia, NZ.
If you're well educated, experienced and aim for an international lifestyle & income, these are the happening places. Lower cost of living, more freedom, less taxes, plum jobs.
Other good bets: India & China, especially for those who can teach or train Indians & Chinese in English, etiquette, customer service and high-tech. Eastern Europe: teachers, investors, senior managers & top execs.
Retirees: anywhere warm and cheap! Nobody can survive on Social Security or British pensions, and the taxes are killing us. Mexico, the Caribbean, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama & Ecuador are particularly nice to expat retirees. |

In the spring, we are purchasing a property in Costa Rica. It's a democracy and the crime on the east coast is very very little. The cost of living is very low. It's a very laid back atmosphere. You do have to have an income of $1,200 US dollars in order to become a resident though. Since we own businesses and I have a pension from the gov't (negotiated early retirement in my contract), that is no problem for us. You can live very well on $1,200 but we plan to open another business there. If you have any skills or are artistic, you can do that as well. Another option is to buy an existing business.
There are several websites that have much more info than I can post here. Take a look. It is truly a nice country and has a lot of ex-pats who live there. Quite a few British and Italians as well as Americans. |

Dont go to the US, because we are in an (almost) depression, so its hard to get a job and stuff. |

I would have to say probably South Dakota in the USA. Or Maryland. I would move there becasue, there is good weather there, less tornadoes and less storms. They are both a really good state to raise a family in. There schools are excellent and jobs are wonderful! The city in Maryland can be very busy, but if your out far enough it's reall pretty. And in SD well there are lots of hills and mountains, but its so beautiful there in the spring and winter!

Leave to the USA, Utah is a nice state, Mountains, Desert, Warm sometimes cold others. Not so many natural disaters - none that i can think of except its on a fault line - Thansk |

Slavery? You are a british citizen? I guess it depends on what you are looking for. There are lots of places to go I suppose. Living in America is good I think (not so sure how good it will be in the coming years). For myself if, if I had to leave, I would be partial to central and eastern europe (including Russia). They don't seem to be heavily infected with the cancer of liberalism and the threat of islam (which is slowly killing western europe). Australia may be good but they have the same liberal cancer there too. Africa, south america and the middle east are just too dangerous. |
