What would have been the reason why the British people were not asked first before mass immigration started ?

Additional Details Carousel , what you say is plain wrong. In 1066 there were only 3,000,000 people in the UK. Other "migrants" coming to the UK were sophisticated military people and above all European. Now we have a UK population up by many millions due to Asian Sub continent immigration and we have 3,000,000 Muslims alone in the UK who arrived in less than 50 years.

The MAIN REASON.... I firmly believe that the UK has been used as a 'mass' experiment for the last 30-40 years, and consequently not been informed for deliberate reasons that it would definitely have caused much civil unrest.
Without wanting to sound racist or too conspiracy theorist, the people of the UK have been 'forced' to integrate like no other country in Europe. The USA is the only other country on Earth with such a diverse and integrated community, but the difference there was that the US was very much a 'manufactured' country, whereas Great Britain has WHITE routes that got back to many millennia.
When people are thrown together like in the UK now, they are forced to accept without rhyme nor reason totally alien cultures that are never easy for most to accept. The government will know this, so will fail to inform people. So now, consequently, we have much unrest, and I really don't blame people because it's human nature, and all races, creeds and colours will find it difficult to live together in this western world as one big happy family. |

Because everyone would have been opposed to it. They've not asked and slowly started to increase the number of people allowed into the country. Basically the UK is an experiment to turn this island into a multicultural society and see what happens.
Were we even asked if the UK should join the EU? or asked if any laws should be given to the EU? last time I checked the UK joined the coal and steel treaty with about 3 or 4 other countries which was for free trade and not this European Union superstate.
Adolf Hitler and his merry men would have been proud at how sneakily and stealthily the EU has been brought to fruition. |

Ask and we can say NO.
By introducing policy and letting it occur at a rate which builds up it is 'too late' to change things.
We are a nation who quietly stand by and let things happen without fighting for our rights. |

Absolutely beautifully put.Good thinking and fine research
I love my country and love British people and realised we have been INVADED at our own invitation.
The people were fooled after 1945...with a country demoralised by a war against a worthy opponent in the Germans.
Russia was the enemy of freedom and a clear economic strong Europe.
Russia planned our demise by stealth and is seeing the results
The countries of the North are full of technologically advanced civilised people who can make a country work but left wing politics took hold in Europe via Russian influence and Liberalisation.
The nation asked for Powell and got Wilson instead.
The aristocratic hierarchy of Britain wanted nothing of right-wing politics seen as Nazi-ism and we are run by such ideals now.
The new young people have been sold a liberal indoctrination which they have mostly swallowed.
Now we have what we deserve for not standing up for ourselves.
We have a PC world where there is no responsibility...just rights .
Management just look after themselves. and make poor decisions
We have leaderless Sun reading thoughtless louts as a main population
Gangs on our streets with no pride or direction will mug you in the City night or day.
We have minorities that hate our way of life and see us as weak...which we appear to be.
We have knife crime
We are not a society.
There is much more its against the law to talk or debate.
Evil grows where good men are silent |

the British people wasnt asked about mass immigration because the powers to be knew very well the people would never have agreed with it.
Thats slime ball governments for you |

The Tories wanted it to bring wages down.
Labour wanted it because they all vote labour
Liberals wanted it because they don't know any better and are wishy washy
The rest of us were lied to and deceived and then the politically correct mob took a hand to the point that the matter can not actually be discussed in a civilised manner unless it is a very slight variation on the PC mob opinions. Then they wonder why in areas of high immigration that the hated B.N.P does so well |

Because some issues that really interest the British people fail to become important political issues due to our very centralised two-party system. People in the UK, in theory vote for individual candidates to represent their constituency but, in practice, people vote for national parties rather than MPs. Thus when the two main parties agree that something needs to be done, it gets done and there is very little that the electorate can do about it.
MPs are more worried about their standing with their party leadership at Westminster than they are about their electors. They know that, in a General Election, the voters will be much more interested in holding them accountable for the overall performance of their party than for their individual voting record. |

Hi there
The minimum wage does not apply to workers from EC countries. Big business wanted the cheap labour, their opinion is obviously more important than ordinary citizens of this country.
We can't blame the immigrants as many are recruited in their own countries. Much as Enoch Powell and others used to go to areas of drought in Commonwealth countries to provide cheap labour in the UK during the 1950's and 60's. We didn't recognise their qualifications so they were condemned to do low paid work that local people wouldn't do.
Some things never change. |

We weren't either - well, Kennedy and Johnson did try to say that the 1965 immigration law wouldn't change the country - they were lying.
This is all about destroying western civilization and capitalism. The commies are winning. |

I was born in 1941 and all I can tell you from memories of my childhood and growing up is that the majority of the people of Britain wanted change and big change. This started to come about immediately after WW2 - the famous 1959 Wind of Change speech made by PM Harold Macmillan in the SA Parliament.
The other thing you have to bear in mind is the long avowed intent of such as the anti-slave movement here in UK, the abolishionists etc.
Most people agreed that there was little point in carrying on with Empire and time had come to change to something new and different. This meant seeing people as equal, possibly for the first time in our history and not just seeing people as 'slaves' or people to be just pushed around and abused as was the case during much of the Empire years, especially in Africa etc.
Try this link for more info.

We must also bear in mind the long history of those in parliament who sought to change things. Even including the high tories [George Canning] who wanted to abolish the British Empire and replace it with a free trade arrangement.
We must also remember that it was a Tory, William Wilberforce, who struggled all of his political career in the House of Commons to finally get his anti-slavery Bill passed in 1807 - he never lived to see the emancipation of the slaves from c1830, which is a pity.
Immigration is simply a modern word used to describe the movement of the human race around and across the Globe - we've been doing it for centuries and will probably continue to do it unto the end of the Earth.
Just one final note - the British Foreign Office is best described as an Arabist Organisation - this always annoys the Americans. Too bad.
A famous former Arabist and employee of the British Foreign Office.

Look carefully at the town badge of Wareham - it tells you everything.
Good luck and remember, today is the first day of the rest of your life. Enjoy it. |

The British people voted the goverment to power. this gives them the mandate. If the majority had problem with the functioning of the govt., they should have voted the party that opposed immigration (or so to say, did what the majority wanted). this immigration happened for 40 odd years starting from 1950s.
Nobody said anything then (well, atleast the majority did not). Elections are held every 5 years not every 30 years.
In democracy , govt is elected by the majority and does what majority wants. if they do something majority is against, then the people can vote them out of power. So in a democratic country, the people are ultimately responsible for what happens. but when will people learn to take responsibility, sigh!!!
BTW, population is moslems in UK is roughly 3-4% and percentage of white in UK is 90%. source: govt data.
Edit: Author commented in the Edit 'Now we have literally millions of migrants from Asian and African countries which never contributed to Europe ever in their entire history.'
Hello!!!!!, western countries plundered the asian and african countries for wealth and became rich in the name of 'civilizing' the east. That is the contribution of the east, making west properous at the expense of the east. Please read an unbiased history, not the whitewashed history, if u do read history. Also soldiers from colonies fought for wars (WW1 and WW2) which does not involve them. And you talk about contribution!!!!! |
