Are you suggesting that the fact that they don't have to money to legally immigrate gives them the right to hop the fence anyway? No, I don't think so. If I did sneak into another country, I would know the consequences that I had coming to me.

I'd probably sneak in too.But I wouldn't demand things or abuse the system(have 5 anchor babies,welfare,subsidized housing,etc.)and I most definitely would never disrespect the U.S. flag or fly a Mexico flag.And I agree with DAR.

You might as well speculate about what they would do in our position.

Which judging from the behavior of the Mexican goverment would probably be something a lot less charitable than what we're doing now.

I would stand up and fight to change my country and my situation. They will never change their way of living if they do not stand up and fight their corrupt government.

Edit ~ They have power in numbers. I'm sure that there are some incredibly smart dirt poor men and women who could gather the poor. They outweigh the rich in Mexico. They could win if they really wanted a change.

They pay thousands upon thousands of dollars to coyotes. If they can afford that,surely they can feed their family.

Besides that, I would never have children that I couldn't afford to feed and take care of.

Most of them are not dirt poor (do not be fooled) they come here for the free benefits, welfare, medicare,free housing. If someone paid me free money plus work under the table sounds tempting but it is illegal. OH yeah, I can not do this because I am a natural born American, I would go to jail. No they are not going to die. They are here too scam us, yes your taxes go up to pay for welfare and your medical benefits are being cut to pay for illegals.And your employer can replace you with an illegal alien. Why wouldn't want to protect you and your family from economic disaster? You better start thinking of yourself first before they take it all!!!!

To answer your question, of course, I'd become a criminal, break the law and enter and work in the United States illegally.

Of course, I wouldn't complain about Americans resentment toward me nor would I complain about getting caught and deported.

If I had no opportunities back home, I would do the same thing & if I get caught I'll just assume the consequences like they all already do when they get deported & would just come straight back over here cause i'll do anything for my kids & family!

It's not our problem, they need to change their own countries. We have poor people here. Stop your unrealistic whining. Enough already! If you want to help poor people in other countries join the peace corp and leave us hard working American citizens alone to help each other. We should not and do not want our tax money used to support illegal foreigners!

I understand what you are saying. Poverty will make people do desperate things. The fact that our borders have been so loose and the opportunity so great, people have, over the past many years taken a lot for granted. Unfortunately, things are beginning to tighten up and the illegals need to be prepared for the possible consequences. As bad as it may appear, we must have control over immigration into this country. We as taxpayers cannot afford the costs being placed on us. It is time for control.

I can definitely empathize with these people, but I still don't think it's right.
If I'm having a hard time paying bills, or putting food on the table for my 9 or 10 children, you don't see me running to Canada or Mexica and exploiting their rights.
These people are taking ADVANTAGE of us, and we're letting them! It makes me sick. Sure, they're helping their families, but guess what! I've seen these people out with their families, and guess what they're driving....new Mustangs, they're spending shitloads on cell phones, gold chains, cigarettes, etc.
They've got it made here. No taxes. No car insurance. They may have had the intention of coming here to only help their families, but when does it end? When can they finally stop having babies all the damn time? And WHEN are we going to stop complaining about them and do something about it? GOSH I would love to talk to George B. right now.

Sorry but how are the poor Mexicans OUR responsibility? Why are we expected to take care of the whole world? What about our families? Shouldn't I be more concerned about my children than the 20+ million criminals that have invaded our country?

Seriously, they have money to come here, they pay smugglers plenty....wherever they get the money, they don't come here as refugee skeletons. If it were me, I'd not break laws of another country as a Christian, knowing it's a sin. I would know that my So. American government is corrupt and wrong in encouraging me to sneak into U.S. I would make do with what I do have in Mexico or other country, knowing that many in the world are worse off than I, such as in Africa. I would be thankful for what I do have daily.
I would hopefully know that my countrymen coming illegally into the U.S. will cause great financial loss for that country's poor workers, homeless, and middle class workers. I would not want to see the violence/corruption in Mexico crossing over to U.S. I would know that Mexico and Columbia have caused enough trouble with evil drug cartels bringing in meth and cocaine to U.S. as their main source for many years. Hopefully I would be smart enough to know that illegals have greatly increased housing costs in U.S. by their population putting it out of reach now for many millions of Americans.
I would have humility, compassion and caring for what illegals are doing to America. I would think my fellow illegal crossers would hang their head in shame and realize that they do not have the rights that citizens do!

After listening to my husband and various members of his family tell their stories of life in their colony in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, I am surprised their suicide rate isn't through the roof! At one point in time, his mother with 8 children, lived in a "house" that was 10 ft by 10 ft with a dirt floor, cardboard walls and scrap aluminum roof. They were happy because the roof wasn't made from grass or cardboard!
When I listen to their stories I wonder if I would have ever found the mental strength to carry on. I am amazed at the amount of courage they must have in order to make their trek to America knowing that they could easily be killed or imprisoned at any time. Knowing that since they carry no ID with them, that if they were to die along the way, chances are, their families will never be notified. Knowing that this is the only chance many of their family members back home have to survive. Unlike the US, education is not free. Children must have uniforms and books paid for in order to attend school and there is no such thing as free lunch. Same for their medical care. Treatment is not received until payment is made! Even in the ER!
I don't blame them one Little bit. And I am personally ashamed every time I hear an American talk about undocumented aliens like they are horrible, worthless people. They are poor and desperate, and hungry but not for one moment unworthy of our compassion!
