but if everybody in america (except those from mexico) there would be nobody to work all the jobs, and that would be the downfall of all the industries. that would send the economy plunging, and so everything below the canadian border would be chaos.

in the end it'd just be the same as the "poor" mexico, while all the prosperity moves into canada along with the americans.

I think the sooner the border fence goes up, and it becomes legal to shut down businesses that employ mexicans illegally within the united states, and the state and local law enforcement agencies become empowered to start shipping people back home, the better off we'll be as a country. Mexico owes us quite a bit by now, they can start paying that off by getting some of their people to come home instead of forcing the United States to do it...
