When will i be English?

You're about as English as I am so I wouldn't worry about it, it's about what country you live in.

Some people say that one day there won't be so many various races...just one.

So what then?

I myself am mixed race but it's so watered down that I'm just white & I've lived in this country all my life & was born here, so I am British-Caucasian.

I live in Texas. Most of my family heritage is from Europe. I consider myself to be just a plain American.

The English nation / people were created from the 5th century to the Norman Invasion in 1066. We are a mix or races; mainly Angles, Saxons, Romans, Normans, Vikings, and Celts.

I think "being English"is just about to disappear, the reason is that England has allowed millions of people from Asia/Africa/Asian sub continent/ China/ etc to come in such numbers that being English will cease to have any meaning.

This is a small island once populated by a few very sophisticated EUROPEANS, the influx of millions people from Asia and Africa etc has happened for the first time in the entire evolution of mankind and we now need another description for the inhabitants.

England exists so do the English, be proud of what you are and what England has Given the world along with its partner nations that make up the UK. The people you are descended from made your England as did my ancestors made my Ireland, I also have Scot, Dane and German ancestry, but I am inherently Proud of my Irishness.
Some people don't care about their Nationality, perhaps they would like to live in Somalia, Pakistan or some other pit, they would soon want to return to their nation.
Neither is Nationalism a social construct its an organic entity passed down over generations and endorsed by natural law. Why do we have the 'United Nations' if its a social construct?

I can never class myself or any of my family going way back in history to be English, thank goodness, but being born and living in Scotland I do consider myself as British. Do you not have a passport that explains that you are from Great Britain & Northern Ireland on the front of it?

I think it has to do with where you are born and grew up. People have been moving around Europe for centuries through warfare etc.
My family are mixed: born in South Africa, grandfather scottish, great-gran from Netherlands, but they all stem from Saxony.
Just because my family can be traced to Germany in 1600's does not mean that I am German today.

if your born in england, your english in my book..
one of my friends moved to france.. and his children are born there. and they are classed as french...
i think people only have a problem when there is a skin color to take into account
a few year ago.. the biggest illegal imigrant input to this country was from south africa.... but no one said anything at the time... because they where white south africaans...

You are actually counted as English if you were born in britain.
spanish if you were born in spain.
British if you were born in britain.
If u are half cast then thats a diffrent story altogether...
