As an American, I'd have to recommend England. We have enough problems here to deal with, we certainly don't need anyone else here that isn't even sure they want to live here. |

Why must America swallow everything? They are not better than the rest of the world. |

Stay in England. We have enough foreigners here already. |

Since you are English, England is the better choice. This is because, ( assuming you have English citizenship) you won't have to start over in the United States and go through the process of becoming a citizen of the United States. |
|

No name.

England. If your English, like you say you are, you can come and stay in England. If not then America is the place where you should go. England is a small country with too many people.
England has rain, and America has earthquakes. England created the English language, and America created the Credit Crunch.
As Al Murray would say "Why don't we have earthquakes in Britain?... Because we don't deserve them. After all, God is British, and you don't sh*t on your own doorstep". Lol. |

America or England?
None is better than the other. They are on par.
They are both Superpowers.
They are both in the UN security council
The both have relatively strong economies (for now)
They are both full of foreigners now.
So you would be better off trying somewhere else - Zimbabwe for example.
Everyone is running away from Zimbabwe. So you can go there and grab a piece of land for yourself, and live wherever you like in all those abandoned homes.
Very good weather/climate too....
If you don't mind Mugabe (the dictator.....sorry, I mean the president of Zimbabwe)

Between the two, I would say England. Government is much more efficient in England and England has better health care, less crime, better culture, better weather, better schools, better laws, etc., etc. (it is 35 below here in the states, by the way). |

Give America a try -it'so huge you can't help but find somewhere you like.
If I had the guts and was younger, I'd try somewhere near, but not in,
San Francisco. This area has a perfect climate -not too cold in winter, not too hot in summer.
Choose a medium-sized town and check the crime rate -it varies so much in the US.
You will be able to buy a big beautiful house and there's room to breathe! |

Given corporate America blundered badly and threw in and lost BILLION$ in overseas investments in Europe, I'd have to concede that the UK, currently enjoying their investment windfall, would mark the spot.
However, other considerations include:
1) Public safety: The UK is an active Al-Qaida terrorist target. How good is national safety there and does it equal Homeland Security?
2) Length of economic prosperity: As earlier stated, the UK is throwing a fun time party economically. BUT.....America has started their economic repair machine--and it WILL recoup those BILLION$ lost--with interest!! Put it this way--what's great to live in NOW might not be in 6 years, when the American dollar comes back home.
3) Another real economic woe is soon approaching the UK ( and Canada, for that matter ): Financial woes of ALL UK controlled national territories. With so many countries currently under British dominion, will the UK possess the $$$$ to bail these countries out and still maintain economic sovereignty? In all likelihood? No.
In about 4 years, the UK is going to have an even bigger epic economic mess facing them. And it's going to mean "cutting the ballast" and letting go of countries like Jamaica and Australia.
If it's any consolation, China also will consider cutting Hong Kong off into independency ( China's economic mess may shadow the UK's ).
Lots of choices: Choose wisely. My bet? Stay in America. |

What do you want to achieve? You'll find fewer social and economic barriers in the United States, more state support in Britain. |

I live in the UK, and have been to the US, personally I prefer it over here in the UK, in my view, it's slightly safer, and has a more efficient government.
However, I would prefer it if we had the US's weather! |

America. We threw the Conservatives out.
Right now, you've got the Labor party that acts just like Republicans and you want to go an elect someone MORE like the Republicans than Labor.
AHAHAHAAHAHAH! |
