Americans did. Illegals do them for less money is all that is. If the illegals were not doing them the employers would be forced to increase wages up to a moral standard of living. They might have to sell 2 or 3 of there cars and throw less parties maybe even be forced to turn some lights off in their million dollar houses wouldn`t that be a shame.

We have to understand that America was not as economically prosper, modern, urban as today. So most Americans couldn't afford to have people cleaning, mowing their houses and so on. But there still was a time when the US had no one to do these jobs and therefore initiated programs for temporary workers to come from Mexico. They were called: brazeros.

I don't think there are jobs americans won't do. It's a big lie and one that really makes me mad. There are plenty of people here who need jobs and are willing to work. There are also plenty of people who want 2nd jobs. I did lots of farm work growing up and worked for 5 bucks an hour. That was called being in high school and college and working to pay for it. I've known plenty of farmers who did TONS of hard work.

The entire "jobs Americans will not do" argument is fallacious and promoted by business owners who want CHEAP LABOR. Americans will indeed do these jobs, but not for minimum wage.

These business owners are the biggest liars in this immigration debate. If they cannot make money paying market wages to LEGAL workers, they need to close their business.

WE DID. Bush says they do the jobs we won't do. (Not for starvation wages we won't.) Consider the jobs that Bush won't do. Protect American's security by protecting our borders and ports...obeying the constitution and our laws.....obviously we can't 'outsource' his job to another country......

Possibly transients before they realized that they can make more by panhandling? Its not that Americans WON'T do these tasks, its just that illegals WILL do them for less..... as a result the amount of hourly pay soon reflected this and made hard work less and less attractive. The owners of huge farms and other business often contracted for laborers, from the great California valleys, to Washington's apples and cherries, and the wheat fields of the mid west. Nearly every piece of fruit America ate was picked by the braceros, hard working decent people.

The 'problem' has become' conveniently full blown now because it is a great political diversion from, among other things, the war in Iraq and the inroads made into destroying personal liberties. The problem was here before all the flap about it. Greed brought it home. Ours!
