I"m an American - married to a British man - we both moved here about 2 years ago from Britain.
As far as I know the gov. doesn't check our marriage or visits our home.
While we lived in Britain my husband applied for an immigrant visa and was authorized to live here w/ a social security number and a green card. He's perfectly legal here!
