There is no doubt border communities, like here in southern Arizona, have benefited economically and culturally from the legal immigrants who live and work here. But residents say illegal immigration is a much different story.

At an early morning roundup at the Single Star Ranch, Bud Strom inspects his cattle and then the fence-line â€” looking for signs of illegal immigrants. He has reason to worry. By his count, 1,000 illegal immigrants cross his ranch near the Mexican border every week.

I would have to agree with this statement wholeheartedly. Makes you wonder why that's not already a set standard.. And it also makes us wonder where the hell our money is going. It certainly doesn't feel good to pay taxes knowing that your hard earned money meant for bettering our nation could be funding our government officials who could be doing the most scandelous and immoral things with our money.

Ultimately, the price of immigration is paid by legal citizens. Illegal immigrants begin their stay in this great country breaking the laws.

If it was up to me, I would ship every single one back and heavily punish the employers of those that hire them. It is out of control because the govt chooses to ignore the problem.

But the USA is under attack with culture bombs going off in nearly every city of the country. Spanish is heard almost as much as English.

I live in California and I looked at my paycheck before I got my benefits and saw over half it was taken away for various taxes. Thats not including taxes like sales tax and stuff. I'm straight middle class now and wondering where it's going to stop. Its not all immigration's fault.
People keep saying illegal immigrants make very little money. In California, they maybe paid less than a citizen, but they are paid well over the minimum wage. I have a friend who's brother is in construction. The employer hires both legal and illegals. He use the legals for show when immigration comes in. WHen a legal gets hurt, workers comp pays for it. If an illegal immigrant get hurts in the job, the bosses sends him to the emergency room and we pay for it. As far as I see , the employers don't save money really on the salaries of his worker, but on stuff like workers comp insurance, since its extremely expensive in california.

TAXPAYERS! Because the feds are "stiffing" the states, they have to raise taxes. Ultimately it's always the taxpayer that gets screwed for everything! (especially for the illegal acts of 20 to 30 million criminals)

We do. But the cost of incarceration pales beside the cost of educating their children. The cost of our children's quality education in overcrowded schools where our children are the lowest priority, is the biggest cost.

Who pays the biggest price: the illegal immigrant.

Who benefits from it:

Contractors big and small that hire them.

Restaurant owners that hire them.

Hotels that hire them.

Wealthy people that hire them as maids and nannys.

Farmers who hire them to tend to crops.

They would not come if jobs were not available. If you want illegal immigration to go away, go to the root of the problem. Make these employers hire U.S. citizens and give them fair pay and health care, then see how high of a price all consumers will pay for food, clothing, hotel, construction and I am sure taxes will go up too.

Renegade..You may be surprised by this answer,but am sure you will agree..EVERYONE involved,every citizen of the USA,every legal resident,and even the illegal immigrants themselves pay the price...Payment is not limited to money, taxes,etc..,it also includes loss of respect, loss of dignity, incarceration, deportation, and in some cases death etc.

Everyone feels the impact of illegal immigration. Both the U.S. citizens and the illegals coming over. Besides the strains on our schools, hospitals, justice system, and other social programs, we need to remember that these people are being exploited. We need a more viable worker program WITHOUT amnesty.

We all do, just like we pay the price of second and third generations on welfare, higher store prices because of shoplifting, higher auto insurance because people refuse to obey the speed limits and cause accidents.. the list goes on and on.. how about the war in Iraq.. who is paying the price for that.. not money.. the waste of human lives?
