Its Scam. Its employers responsibility to pay & arrange work permit for employee. Employee usually pays for visa at UK Embassy in his home country & the fee is directly paid to Embassy & not to employer. |

You are being scammed. If you are being sponsored for employment in the UK, your employer has to apply for the permit for you - you cannot do so yourself. The company would also cover these costs.
The only way you can apply on your own is if you apply for a Tier 1 visa, which does not require company sponsorship. If you do a Tier 1, you apply directly through the UK Embassy in your country and the application costs £750.
I've been sponsored for employment in 4 different countries in Europe and have never paid for my own work/residency permits. That is something the company has always taken care of, at their expense.
There are so many net scams and if you pay them once, they will come up with an excuse that your application was rejected, so they need more money to file an appeal. Then will contact you again asking for more money for some other fees.
Let me guess - the "job offer" is either from a hotel or petroleum company? These seem to be the most common scams. |

only your employer can get that for you.....You can get work permit in only two situations..first you have studied there and the university get it arranged ...or second you have to find an employer who will arrange...you cant arrange it yourself in any case |

i hav got an appointment letter from a UK based petrolium company with an advice to contact a local agent in LONDON for work permit/resident permit.Agent has asked for 5000 GBP,which will be deposited with BRITISH COUNCIL for approval of WP/RP in addition to his consultancy charges of 1500GBP.should i pay this amount to agent?Is British Council right authority for WP/RP? |
