I would like the wall a little higher please, and I like the machine gun idea, it adds interest and balance to the design, and would compliment the National Guard Soldiers. Fab idea..... |

Halliburton would be all for it. |

Dar and Sealr. has it on this one. |

not me i would do anything to prevent that from happening and its also just a waste of money so whats the point of the wall |

I would. I would love to man it too, at 41 though I am too old for Border Patrol. |

I do. Since chain link fences and cops in trucks every 100 miles obviously doesn't work, we should do what does work.
So far, just moving in troops has helped significantly. I think it's a good move.
I'm all for LEGAL immigration. The USA is founded on legal immigration.
Illegal immigration = illegal. |

sounds like a plan |

Don't need a wall. A 10' high fence with consetina wire at the top and bottom would be more than enough. Granted, some illegals might make it through, but it would take time and they would hopefully be spotted by border patrols in jeeps.
It would dost the US a LOT less than a wall and guards |

A wall would be good but I am also in favor of a mine field before the wall, so what if we cut 20 feet of our border off, you could make a game show seeing if the mexicans can get through a mine field. |

10' feet is not high enough; we need to duplicate the great wall of China between the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico; it will be a great tourist attraction. Rotate one mile on the Mexican side and one mile on our side. No need for the machine guns - thats just going to rile up the hate filled bigots who want to label you the racist for controlling our border. |

I wouldn't go that far, but a wall and stronger boarder secarity is needed. Our boarder is in Danger and needs something. I will support a wall, not a gun for shooting anything that moves.
A case to think about what: A few months ago, an AMERICAN police officer pulled over a van coming into the US, inside was a group of Illgeals who them beat and killed him, they then ran back to Mexico and got off since the Mexican Goverment refused to deport them to fase triel.
Aonother thing to think about, In every movie, such as "Day After Tomarrow" Mexico shuts down there boarder, and kill Americans coming in. We should have the same right. Whats good for the Goose is good fore the Gander |

No, but I would support a 14 foot security fence.

Not me, just another waste of money the US will throw away because we will get here no matter what. When there's a will there's a way! |

Well, even if you DID make the wall, whats to prevent them from tunneling under it? It sure beats wading the shallow river that runs along the border, or having to jump over the now present one.
Lets face it, we will "never" keep the Mexicans out, because our Government doesnt "want" to keep them out!!
I wish you well..

The Mexicans already inside the US would never approve, and it'd be a vote loser for political party proposing the notion.
You know dat, everybody know dat too.
What the US needs to do is pack up and disconnect away from the North American landmass.
Become unreachable like say, Australia or Antartica.
The first hundred million years are a bee itch though. |

I think it would be better to just go after the SOURCE of what brings them here!!!!!!!!!! The poeple that HIRE them!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I support hard borders...don't think 10' high wall would do it(they use ladders now). Something more like a double fence (16' or higher) about 100' apart and well lit. Have a road running parallel to fence with cameras, armed guards and monitors @ one mile intervals, and continuous road patrols. You can't shoot anything that moves however I do believe if any armed force from a foreign country crossses the border it should be considered an invasion and dealt with accordingly. To those mentioning the Berlin wall...there is a big difference. That wall kept people imprisoned. Going after employers is fine but anytime someone is found to be here illegally they should be deported and they should lose any opportunity for citizenship. I would consider building reserve or active duty bases on the borders and use military personnel to assist border patrol to a greater degree than present. Military units stationed in the States have to have something to do anyway...much time is spent training...make patrols on the border substitute for some training. These are just some ideas...nothing hard and fast. We need to secure our borders and protect our sovereignty far more than it is now and not have the country "stolen" by illegals.
DAR wow...that's almost exactly what i had in mind. |

Umm... what for? We aren't at war with Mexico, and that border is patrolled already. Why would it be okay to shoot anything that moves? It's not okay to shoot mexicans just for fun. Besides, Canada is a bigger concern, I'd be all for locking down that one- we don't even have a fence going for us on that side. |

I am all for it, except the gun thing. I am just a bit confused when most the people in American are for this idea or for another idea that keeps illegal immirgrants out why are the politician not doing a damn thing. |
|

This, That & such
 |
The construction companies for building the footings. lol
Not a good idea, waste of time and money. Would still find a way in. As far as shooting, not good, can't shoot into other country, would have to shoot them once they've crossed or on top of wall. |

I say make it 20' and I will come and help to build it.... |

All for it. Less tax dollars in the long run. SO people stop thinking about just today and realize tomorrow is going to come. If we just keep using troops then we are going to keep paying for them but if the wall goes up then its a onetime payment and its over and done with. |

I do not support the building of a wall. I am against illegal immigration. I believe would should beef up the border patrol. I also believe there should be stiff penalties for employers hiring illegal workers. I believe that anyone caught in the country illegally should be deported period! How can I be for enhanced enforcement, but against a wall you ask? Well I remember the last wall that was built in the world, and the animosity it caused. Does anyone else remember the Berlin Wall? Do wish it was still standing? Food for thought I guess! BTW the gun thing is way over the top, and I really hope you were kidding. |

I support giving the land back to the original and responsible tenants, the Native Americans. They did a really good job of not destroying that land and water for several thousand years. If it aint' broke, don't fix it! What has this society done to help the environment? Not much. A wall isn't going to work because the real problem is on the INSIDE of this country, not outside. You'd be killing the wrong people; support purging the US Government and we'll talk. |
|

as soon as that dumbass Bush finds out that Mexico has oil there will not need a wall because the wall will be in the way when the USA invades |
|

I do support the wall but the whole shooting something that even moves is a little extreme. |

Too expensive. Just enforce the laws we have and be prepared for record inflation as everything doubles in price to lure the welfare set off the couch and into the workplace.
And say goodbye to the farming and manufacturing industries. The farms will shut down and the factories will move to Mexico where the workers are. |

I realize there is a border and immigration problem.
However, no 10' high wall is going to do anything at all to help. This will stop no one, and would just be a waste of tax dollars. There are better ways (satellites for example) of investing tax dollars to work on this issue. |
