Why are americans always arguing about illegals being here?

Not all the facts are known to everyone. I personally admire the Mexicans that I have met. You have a valid point, they do many jobs that Americans are unwilling to do.

Unfortunately, the problem that many people have, along with myself, is that our schools are suffering, as well as our healthcare, due to lack of paying taxes, and unpaid ER visits. (this would be unregistered aliens ONLY).

I admire those that are willing to go through the proper channels, and unfortunately, the ones who don't, and that goes for not only Mexican citizens, but other countries as well, make it harder for the honest ones who don't try to "shortcut"

Also, many of these people send the bulk of there money back home, whick only sends $$ OUT of the US and into the coffers of the other country.

There are pros and cons, I have just as many of each to offer, but I would like to let you know that I admire you and your family for their hard and HONEST work!!

The truth is if immigrants weren't here, those jobs you speak of wouldn't pay so bad, as minimum wage would take effect. The reason they pay immigrants (Illegals that is) that low is because they can take advantage, as they have nothing else to turn to. Immigration is a problem with this country, we can barely feed and house our own people, why should we host the rest of the world? If I just ran up in your house and decided to live there without asking you, or attempting to appease you in acceptable ways, wouldn't you be mad?

Because America is their home. Imagine owning a big house and have people coming in and making it their home. It's like that except in a bigger scale.

It's not Mexicans that a lot of Americans have a problem with. It's people who are here illegally. Citizens get upset that illegal aliens use services that are funded by taxes they pay. Some times people confuse immigration with illegal aliens. Someone who is in the US illegally is not an immigrant.

There is no 'argument' among true Americans. legal immigrants are welcome with open arms, and should enjoy all the benefits this great nation has to offer. Illegal should be sent home, documented, and put at the 'back of the line' to ever again enter this nation legally.

It's better having a crappy job then no job. Most of my family (I'm as white as they come, 90% Irish with a little German and Scottish) works 14 hour days as fishermen or in factories but recently Mexicans have been up this way taking the jobs and bringing a lot of problems and the worse part is they constantly paint themselves as nothing but victims of the "evil white people" in the newspapers. If you knew Down East Maine you'd know that yes it's 99% white but it's also like 40some percent below the poverty line.

Well, first good for your father for doing it the right way. It is not that we don't want any Hispanics here, I am married to one myself, it is that we don't want them here illegally becasue they are using the medical aid that should be for our children. They are sending their kids to schools and getting all kinds of assistance when I can't even let my kids go to Pre-K because they don't speak spanish as a first language. I myself and my husband too ( he was born in Kentucky but his dad was born in Mexico and went to 'Nam for the US) hate it when our children are getting left out because illegals have their children here and get all the local aid, etc.

i don't think it is about the jobs at all. If they weren't here to do them, someone else would step-up to do it.

being on our welfare rolls, or clogging up our Emergency

Yes what you say has some sense to it but I hung Chicken as a summer job When I Was 16 caught them at 17 and was the nastiest one of all killer for 5 year at the chicken plant when I got out of school. If they want to come over fine there is a legal way to do that and if they can't get it done that way there is probably a good reason behind it

I do not agree with you, I know many people who would work those jobs, there are many people who would work ANY jobs, and they are legal citizens. Dirty jobs are no excuse to say we should let people illeagly here stay here just so they can do some dirty work, trust me, there are plenty of people here willing to do those jobs, just because you are too prissy to do it don't mean we are. And before you go trying to say I'm racist, guess what? I'm half mexican, and I am a legal citrizen, my family on my father's side speak spanish as a first langauge and I know all about the issues at hand, and I still opose illegal immigrants. I live in Hampton, VA, here a couple weeks ago, we had an illegal imigrant that was driving drunk, and killed 2 teenage girls, wheres the good in that? yeah, I know it could have happened with anyone, but it didn't, it happened with someone here illegaly, and had he not been here, those 2 girls would still be alive today.

I'm not trying to be rude, or mean, and I apologize if i offend you, but I completely disagree with thinking its ok for illegal imigrants to come here, and i always will be.

There are millions of millions of American workers out here that are doing some of the nastiest **** you could imagine!
Who do you think is out there working in teh coal mines? The sewers? The garbage trucks? The slaughterhouses?

If there are only 12 million or so illegal immigrants, it dam sure can't be them that's doing all the "dirty work" in which you claim they are doing.

I agree that people just want something to complain about and they want to be able to put others down. The unemployment rate is the U.S. has stayed the same 5% for several years now, there are plenty of jobs for people who WANT to work. There is also plenty of unpopulated land in the U.S. .

Honey I thought your question was about illegals, seems to me that it's just about Mexicans. This is an illegal immigrant situation you're talking about right? Then be fair Mexican, Asian, Africans, etc. Don't sound so ignorant. I'm not taking offense either, I don't support illegal aliens, but I don't mind the people who do things the legal way to be here. The majority of American families have legally migrated here. Perhaps even yours. I suggest you don't assume things about people or a group of people since you don't have any statistics for proof. All you have are your eyes and an assumption.

I think the problem has arisen because of such a large influx of Hispanic people all over the U. S. in just the past ten years. Ten years back,in my community alone, there was less then a dozen Hispanic children in our public school system. There was only one when I was in high school. Today approximately one fourth to one third of the children enrolled in our public schools are Hispanic. That is an extreme and shocking change.
Do I think they have less of a right to be here then I do. No, that would be wrong. I do think they should of come here legally tho. This has caused many problems and much pain for their children. Do I want to gut chickens? Yes, I have done it and have many relatives who do it annually and they are not Hispanic, so don't tell me only Hispanics gut chickens. Since when is wanting to make a living a crappy job. That is raciest. Americans have been hard working people well before the large influx of Hispanic people. You wouldn't be here if we ran our country like Mexico, now would you?

The crappy jobs for little pay, do not balance out the thousands of dollars spent on each illegal that lives and breeds here.

When illegals are removed from those crappy jobs after an ICE raid, the pay for those vacant jobs go up and are quickly filled by U.S. citizens.

I will argue about illegals until they are all deported, or forced out by war.

Are you serious? It's a very big issue. It shows how little America is protected. Any criminal or major terrorist could just trapse over the border and be protected more than the average citizen is. Not only that, but the people who are coming are mostly uneducated and unable to find jobs with decent pay. The less you make, the bigger the tax breaks. So even if they do pay taxes, the rest of America has to split the bill to pay for services they use... you know, like street cleaning, schools, welfare, hospitals, etc.
Yes, they do take jobs. They may be jobs the average educated adult in America don't want... but we do have plenty of struggling Americans who wouldn't mind cutting the heads off of chickens to survive. No, they wouldn't work for as cheap as an illegal would... and the fact that an illegal would take such low pay is part of the problem. Have you seen the price of food lately? Those companies can afford to pay their employees a decent wage. Buisness' use them as slave labor. Do you condone that?? Does your husband like being exploited?
Mexicans do not keep this country going. Americans keep America going. The fact of the matter is that Mexico needs America... not the other way around. If it was the other way around Americans would be jumping the border into Mexico.
You may think that them working for pennies helps America... but it doesn't. It hurts the majority of the population. Besides, illegal immigrants use up way more than they bring in... and that's a true fact. Prove me wrong if you can.

Mexicans are opportunists some like to respect the dignity of soveignity, the others are terrorists or TERRORISTS! There's no difference between larceny and felony, they are both trangressions of the law! You dad has respect for himself and will be credit to society. They thought they have all the rights with less effort that they reason out their expensive pays compared to immigrants. Immigrants are more capable with less pay because they have to multiply their efforts just to prove their worth in a discriminating society of incapable people who always complain and blame their own shortcomings in terms of skills and capabilities. Plenty of testimonies of complaints out of stupidities we can share if you want to. If they don't need our services then why our kind are still going in the country?

We argue because we are sick of criminals demanding rights they don't have. They are not suppose to be here!

There is also the problem that tax payers shell out about $50 BILLION each year for the illegal aliens. CA alone is over $9 BILLION.

Then there's the schools that are being destroyed. Our health care system is in shambles with ERs closing - they can't turn them away and they can't afford to stay open. (My daughter had to go to a hospital 50 miles away when her baby was born because the one 5 minutes away was filled up with illegals.)

Then there's the diseases they bring that had been eliminated due to immunizations. Oh, then there's stealing jobs Americans want, extra identity theft, crime, drugs and gangs! LAPD stated that most of the gangs are Mexican.

Don't forget about the fact that they don't pay taxes (we pay over $22,400 each year for each family and that includes them paying sales and property taxes (from their rent).

This is NOT a racist issue. I don't care where they come from. If they are here illegally, they MUST leave! THAT IS THE LAW!

These are FACTS, not opinion. There is nothing being said that is inappropriate. If you don't like all this, sorry it's reality!

Well, it is a big deal right now. Your dad getting the proper documentation is a different thing from the millions of people coming over illegally.

It boils down to a lot of factors, some good, some bad. Xenophobic racism, real fears about economic drains and pressures on public services, ignorance, culture clash, etc. I think it's a complicated issue that needs to be looked at. But I also think that we can come to a workable solution.

We should use the Mexican immigrant situation to the advantage of the U.S. in a practical way. If there is a drain on social services, we can find a way to tax their labor. I worry about things like people not being screened for disease and things like that. But, I agree with you that foul-mouthed, racist comments aren't necessary or helpful.
