Why are americans so against Immigrant Mexicans?

hmm where do I begin.
A few years ago some college friends and myself did a research paper on illegal immigrants. We did them on how our tax dollars are used by illegal immigrants. Well what we found out is that yes there are a few illegals immigrants on the welfare system, but there where 4 times more American citizens on it as well. The american citizens that we interviewed and where on it lived quite well, drove nice cars, had amazing furniture and money to spend. The illegal immigrants that where on welfare lived a mosdest life, lived in a small one bedroom apt., used the bus to get from A to B. Waited in lines at the county hospital to have their children (who are american citizens) seen by a doctor. Big diffenece between the two and yet people still blame immigrants for a lot of the bad things that happen in society. Welfare fraud is commited in a large portion by legals. Yes we did report the legal people for welfare fraud, if you are on welfare then why are you driving high end cars(my opinion).
That was one portion of the research. The other portion was on tax money. When illegals get hired and collect a check do they get taxed. 8 out of the 10 workers collected checks, the check where taxed. Now where does that tax money go, same place our tax money goes. We also asked them if they collect their refund check when they file taxes and they said no, because they where afraid to be deported. So where does the unclaimed refund money goes? It stays with Uncle Sam. So in my opinion its ignorant to say that illegals don't pay taxes because they do. I suggest that you contact your local IRS office and ask them how many millions of dollars are in unclaimed refunds every year and ask them what do they do with the money.

First, not all Americans live in luxury homes and shop at Rooms To Go. Second, illegal immigrants take jobs, funding and time from doctors away from legal citizens of this country. Third, Mexicans seem to be the only group of immigrants that refuse to learn the language and adopt the American culture. Fourth, fifth, and sixth topics can also be discussed. The attitude of what the hell and just deal with it are also part of the problem with illegal Mexican immigrants. The lost revenue from monies leaving the country to provide for families still in Mexico could be going for taxes if the worker were legal but, they are not. There are so many reasons Americans are against illegal immigration, it just seems we're against Mexicans because they are the ones abusing the system and remember, they are breaking the law.

Ok, here's my personal take on this subject. I'll tell you, no one had any problem with ANY certain race untill "la raza" started to wave their Mx flags at thes protests. Mexicans are the ones bringing all the bad attention to theirselves. Whining because American citizens won't allow border laws to be broken so that "workers" can come in. Hey, can you spot a worker from a child molester? Or a drug runner? I can't, that's why there are LAWS AND RULES in place too weed out criminals from law abiding Mexicans who want to work here and obtain the "American Dream". You have to apply for documents to cross LEGALLY. It is a privelege to live here, not a right. I am 1/2 Mx and 1/2 white BORN IN THE USA! I have always stood up for "my people" untill I realized what a financial burdeon illegals create. The first being when I worked at a hospital as a bill collector. Where we live, there is a large Mx population so I can attest this is true. I do not want to sound racist but it was true that the majority of the people with Hisp. last names gave us bogus info at the ER. So when trying to collect, all we rcvd. was a cold trail. I stopped in the ER one day and was appalled at how many people there were in there and I knew that probably 1/2 were going to give us bogus info because they are here illegally... Next, there are many State, local, and Federal subsidy programs for AMERICAN CITIZENS who need help. These resources are being depleted by illegals who use false docs, etc to obtain them. Most who have only been in the US for a few months. This ROBS a legal US citizen down on his luck from obtaining these benefits. Also, the State pays BILLIONS into these Spanish or other speaking language programs. My beef is pre-school. We US citizens "don't qualify" for State run preschool, yet there are many Spanish Only preschools wasting money. The reason these children do not speak English is because their parents do not. The parents do not because they are here illegally and cannot got to school to learn it. Believe me, I feel sorry for someone seeking work here who saves every penny they earn to pay a Coyote to get them safely accross. Little do they know once the Coyote gets their money, they will be left out in the desert to fend for themselves. For all the money, time, and energy these people exert to get here illegally, they could spend it going through the proper channels. As for Mexicans doing all the work, etc. My dear, if the company's paid us Americans a liveable wage wher we could make our mortgage payments, car payments, etc believe me you, I would be picking strawberries! The growers pay the illegals $6./hr, but the illegals live 20 to a 2br apartment and they only fork over $100/mo for rent, food, utlities, etc. So they can afford the grower's wages. It's not about that Americans WON'T do the work, we just can't afford to do it. Illegals don't own homes, cars, etc. Americans live like we should-COMFORTABLY since we are not ruled by a dictator, a socialist, or communists. We are a FREE country and are allowed to live happy as we choose. So, if these companies would pay $12-$15./hr to pick strawberries, I would be the first one in line to apply! As for home builders etc, get an illegal to pour your concrete foundation (no education, no English, etc) for $6./hr or pay another man of Mexican descent who is here LEGALLY and went to school, etc. to lay the same foundation to your home. Let's see who does the better job, and who does the half-a**ed job. My husband was born in Mx and his father wanted him to be educated in the US. They received the proper paperwork and enrolled him in school. It cost a substantial amount of money, but my father-in-law was willing to pay and do it the honest way. Today, illegals falisfy documents, use someone else's address over here, etc. to get what they want. THAT IS DISHONEST. Why would we want to fill our country with people who are liars, cheats, and thieves?! We should worry about policing the people who are here legally doing those things. That's why there is police shortage, school overcrowding, crime, you name it! It's not a "Mexican" thing, it's the fact that illegals are not traceable and can do what they want until they get caught. American citizens have Social Security numbers, Driver's Licenses, Birth Certificates, etc. When we commit crimes, we can be found (for the most part). When someone who has no US documentation commits a crime, they just head back to their migrant camp, or apartment..... Whoever wants the borders "open", open up your home to these people who come accross. You feel so sorry for them, let them stay with you. Well, I don't want them to stay with me either! Another thing, let's say a huge amnesty occurs again, that means there willl be hundreds of thousands of new citizens who can then ask for higher wages (probably still lower than your wage) that are higher than what they make now. Say, you make $19.75/hr, a newly entered immigrant bids, say, $15.00/hr, guess who will lose their job? Willing to give up your job? It WILL happen. Don't be so willing to shoot yourself in the foot by first putting it in your mouth....

I'm not. How can anyone be so hostile to people who want to come here to work their asses off. Mexican immigrant contribute immensely to this country. It's interesting how many Whites consider themselves "native Americans," forgetting that their families immigrated here for better opportunities stealing land and committing genocide against Native Americans and stealing half of Mexico during the Mexican-American War of the 1840s. Isn't it ironic that in places like California, New Mexico and Arizona that Mexicans without documentation are considered "illegal"? Maybe someone should research a map from 175 years ago and see what country this was.

I know who built my home -- and I knew their parents and grandparents and I know their kids and grandkids... because their families have been here as long as mine has been and that dates back to before my state was a state -- they weren't illegal immigrants.

I do my own landscaping.

The Mexicans who own and operate my favorite restaurant -- which does happen to be an authentic Mexican restaurant -- came here legally and are naturalized U.S. citizens. They pay the same taxes I'd pay in their place, they pay their employees a competitive *documented* wage. Their vehicles are insured and registered in their real names. Their driver's licenses are in their real names. The tags on their cars match the vehicle they were registered to. If one of them accidentally T-bones me at an intersection and it's completely his fault, he won't ditch the car and disappear, leaving me or my insurance company holding the bag.

Imported furniture & other goods and the export of our manufacturing industry is certainly having a huge negative impact on our economy, but it's a completely separate issue from that of illegal immigration.

I have no problem -- NONE -- with Mexicans or with the legal immigration of people from ANY country.

I do have a problem with our government turning a blind eye to "debt bondage" (50,000+ Chinese are smuggled into this country through our ports, each year, and held in perpetual debt bondage by their owners/employers.) It doesn't matter if you or I would want the jobs they hold or what we'd expect to be paid for doing them -- those jobs aren't open to us... period.

I have a problem with our government turning a blind eye to the exploitation of illegal immigrants at the expense of our standard of living by employers who pay them pennies on the dollar that you and I would not only want, but need and have to be paid to do the same job.

I fully understand why those who came here willingly did so. In their situation, I would risk everything for a chance at a better life for my kids, too.

But, by working for free or for undocumented pennies on the documented dollar, once they get here, they're inadvertantly contributing to creating the same economic conditions that drove them from their home countries in the first place. Those who worry that we're turning into Mexico would do well to stop thinking about language and start thinking about economy!

To curb the rapidly growing influx of illegal immigrants, we first need to resume strict enforcement of our existing labor and wage laws... until we do, any other effort will be for naught.

It's not that we don't want them here, it's how they abuse and disrespect thier privlages here. They come to America not knowing any english and expect us to make programs, spend government money just so they can learn and thats not right. I'm sure if we went to Mexico they wouldn't bother teaching us spanish.

Let's get this straight once and for all. Americans are not against immigrant Mexicans, they are against Illegal Immigrants period. A Large majority of illegal immigrants in this country come from Mexico. With such a large border with as many holes in it as we currently have, any terrorist can come in through Mexico (Since Mexico's border with other countries are virtually unguarded) and then come into the US and cause major damage. This is what all the Hubbub is about.

For one thing, few Luxury homes are built entirely by Mexicans. Landscaping is done by all ethnic groups. Why mention Mexican food? Americans love foods from all cultures -- Italian, Oriental, etc....No, Mexicans are not responsible for the bulk of furniture production. Stop with the human beings crap! Of course Mexicans are human stupid, I could care less where they are born -- If they jumped our borders illegally they don't belong here and should be jailed then deported. Non-tax paying illegals is what the 'hell' the problem is! If you are here legally then Stop whining! Well, they are not all against Mexicans, just the illegal aspect of it. Somewhat I understand their frustration, but they should not be racist to them. And actually, there are a lot of Mexican-Americans (people born in the U.S. with Mexican heritage) that are against illegal immigration. The root of this problem begins in Mexico, our goverment should be responsible for those people, they should create more job opportunities. I hope our new president (even though I didn't vote for him) does a good job keeping our people here. They don't need to be going to another country to have a better life, they should have that good life in the country they were born, this whole thing isn't fair to nobody.

Your rising health care is partially caused by immigrants, the taxes that you pay that go to welfare are going to illegal immigrants. Don't you ever wonder how many people there are driving without insurance (usually illegal immigrants) making car insurance more expensive. The list goes on. There are plenty of people who come into our country legally everyday and contribute and work towards getting citizenship. Then there are others that have learned how to abuse the "system". Regardless of what they are doing/making/cooking whatever if they are doing it illegally its hurting the country not helping it.
